Dr. Harleen Quinzel
It's been five days since my promotion and transfer to Arkham Asylum. Today is my first day, and I don't know how to react. I heard so much from doctors at Blackgate; some got me really excited, but others made me feel a bit scared of it.
But there is no turning back now.
I decided to wear a purple loose v neck shirt. I placed over my shirt the necklace Slade gave me. The diamond was a dark orange, and shined blue whenever the sun hit it. I put on dark grey skinny jeans with purple pumps.
I was going to put my hair into a bun, but I decided to put it in a tight ponytail. I swept my blonde bangs and put on my thick black glasses. After a quick apply of make-up and perfume I was ready to go.
I grabbed my suitcase and waved at Freud and Jung as I walked out. I made it inside my car and followed the directions that I was given from Dr. Fritzes.
Arkham Asylum is located at the outskirts of Gotham, in a small isolated island. It was almost an hour drive, but I finally drove up to it.
Arkham was drenched in black clouds that threaten to rain. Dry bushes are impaled into the ground, and traveled around the black iron gate. The gate read in giant letters,'Arkham Asylum'.
At each end of the gate's opening was four angles. One was on top of them in prayer, two were in prayer facing opposite directions and in front of them was an angel holding out a lantern.
Around the top of the gates was two sets of barbed wires. Next to the gate was a tall look out where I saw a guard searching for any danger with a sniper rifle in his hands.
The building was gigantic and was cut into corridors. I saw from afar a tall powerful tower with a dark lighten clock. I drove closer to the gate, and as I did it began to open.
The gate made a hard noise of iron against iron. I drove in and turned against the fountain in the middle. I got out of my car and stepped onto a hard rock ground.I stumbled walking with the ground having many bumps and wholes. I heard as I kicked away small rocks with my feet.
I made it up the steep and slippery steps. After climbing over countless steps I made it to the door. Above the door was another sign made of black iron that read,"Arkham." I took a calming breath and placed my hand over the long and rusty knob.It was cold as I pulled it up; I had to use all my force to open the door that towered over me.
I stepped inside of Arkham Asylum for the first time.
It was a long room and it was a bit cold. I looked around and each wall had long windows with gates that were designed in a box form. I began to walk on the grey carpet, and saw as each guard at the side of the walls studied me. I looked away from discomfort and looked up to the dangling light bulbs that flickered.
I kept walking to three men in front of a heavily sealed elevator. The man in the middle was a well dressed older man in glasses. His sliver hair was beginning to bald. He had in hand a staff with a crystal ball with a pink glowing flower like object inside. I then saw that the collar of his jacket had a red rose, it matched with his red tie. He coughed a bit and spoke as he played around with his staff.
"Welcome to Arkham Asylum, Dr.Quinzel. I am Warden Quincy Sharp, a pleasure it is to have to you here working in our facility. I will show you how things are done around here."
Without warning he turned around and walked with his staff. I took the hint that I was to lead him. So I did as he walked into the elevator. He took a way around the security process, so I saw as we went pass a couple of neat security doors, and appliances. Inside the elevator was two T.Vs with the Arkham Logo. I heard a soft dingle as we began to ascend; I heard the voice of the women softly speak. "Attention all inmates, Arkham Asylum will use heavy force if required."
