Dr. Harleen Quinzel
Dr. Strange led me to a room with a black steel door. The two guard checked me for anything that Joker could use as a weapon, then they proceeded their routine by handing me a small stack of papers. I was about to reach for it, but Dr.Strange shooed it away with his hand.
"Dr. Quinzel has already studied patient 4176. No need for her to go over already known information." I wrapped my hand on the sliver knob after they unlocked the many locks.
Before I stepped in Dr. Strange reminded me that, if needed a doctor can request the patient to be in their office for a more private comfortable session. I gave my thanks and stepped inside the empty room. I walked into a white room with gated windows.
The cold sliver table is where I placed my notes as I awaited for Joker to come in through the door in front of me that had above it a sign that read, "Patient's Entrance." Reading that made me turn my head to the door I came in which also had a sign that read, "Doctor's Entrance." Can they be anymore anal in here?I waited for seven minutes and then I heard rumbling coming from the door in front of me.
Well, here comes Joker.
The door was slammed open and two guards came in holding Joker by the arms.He had his eyes shut closed out of frustration, as they placed him on his chair. They then locked one of his hands on the armrest. He was heavily breathing with his eyes still closed. He began to giggle, but it wasn't at all gleeful. The two guards left the room and closed the door behind them.
I wanted to speak, but I just glared at Joker who still had his eyes shut and his head dangled down.
"Mr.J?" I whispered to him. He then shot his eyes open and slowly brought his eyes up to me. When we made eye contact a smile grew on his face.
"Harley...I missed you."
"Y-you missed me?" I strutted out of shock.
"How could you even ask me that, Pooh? Of course I missed you! Especially when we kiss." His voice grew more menacing. I felt my heart race, I never wanted to talk about this again. Especially with him.I started to play with my hands and look around trying to think of something.
"You can hold my hand; if you want." Joker said as he placed his free hand on top of the table. I just glared at it and shook my head no. This made him form his hand into a fist and drag it under the table. He then scoffed and whispered something under his breath, all I could make out was the word easy.
"We need to talk about what happened that day. What you did was unacceptable, and I have never experienced that type of aggression my whole life."
"Stick around with me and I'll show you a whole lot more of aggression," Joker said as he coughed up a laugh.
For the first time I didn't laugh along with him.
"I know that you feel some type of a connection with me due to your clown like appearance and the rearrangement of my name to be similar to a clown character. But that is where the similarities stop. I am your doctor, and you are my patient. That is how its going to stay, and if you ever think about doing that again I'll-"
"You'll what,Harley? You'll stop me and force me off?" Joker said as he had a dark smile.
"W-why....Why did you kiss me?" I couldn't help the fall of my voice. I needed to know why he kissed me. I needed to hear it come out of his mouth. But Joker didn't reply, he just laughed from the back of his throat.
"I have a better question for you, Harley. Why did you kiss back?"
I felt my heart stop. I shook my head and tried to answer, but no words came out. I felt like a mute. I was powerless right now, and Joker kept talking.
"I know why you kissed me back, you want me, Harley. You want me to love you, but someone is stopping you and that someone is Harleen. Dr. Harleen Quinzel is your clown mask, you wear her so people can think that you are dull--just like them. When they see you, you wanted them to see who they want you to be. But I can see you, Harley. I felt you fight against Harleen, and I felt you kiss back. You just need to keep on fighting, because I won't give up. I won't let Harley's laugh be silenced."
"I am Harleen; Harley is just a nickname. I told you that before, but now--I'll prove it, too." Before Joker could speak I got up from my chair and walked to the door where he came in through.
"Dr. Quinzel requesting in office session." I said to one of the guards who called in to Dr.Strange who allowed it. Both guards came into the room and unlocked Joker's handcuff from the armrest and pulled him up. I began to walk to my office with both of the guards and Joker right behind me.
I kept walking, but turned my head to Joker who looked a bit confused. I opened my office door and let the guards with Joker inside. They placed Joker on the sofa and handcuffed him to the armrest. I closed the door as the guards stood guard. I turned to Joker and sat on the chair across from him, but there was no table between us.
"Harley,...What is your little mind thinking?"
"I'm thinking how I'm about to prove you wrong. You think I want you then you are mistaken." As I spoke I sat next to him on the sofa. Joker looked a bit shocked.
"I am going to kiss you, and you are going to feel no passion. It's going to be as dull as you made me out to be. You're gonna see that the joke was on you."
Joker wore a half smile, and then shifted his shoulders.
"Ok...Don't move," I commanded as I grew closer to his lips. Joker didn't move, but I saw that his smile grew a bit and I felt as he fought back a laugh.
"Don't move..," I whispered to him as I felt the tip of his bottom lip. I closed my eyes, and quickly kissed him. I retreated my head back and saw Joker who looked disappointed."Now Harley...That was rude. I don't remember our kiss being anything like that." I then laughed at him and pointed my index finger at him.
"That is excatly how our kiss was!" I smiled so hard, but stopped when I saw Joker get serious.
"Fine! Lets try again then." I said as I once again grew to Joker's lips. I once again tapped his lips, but I pulled away slightly. I didn't move but looked up to Joker's deep green eyes. I looked back to his lips...And kissed him again. I wrapped my arms around his neck and felt Joker kiss back. He placed his free hand around my waist as we continued to deeply kiss.
I wanted to stop so bad, but I couldn't. His lips was so soft, I couldn't pull away. I then felt him kiss away at my neck I pulled hard at his hair. I should stop!"Harley," Joker moaned, which made me stop and look at him,"So sweet, like pudding."
I fought to catch my breath. I then looked around and saw that I was straddling him! I quickly got off him and fell to my chair. I placed my hand over my swollen lips.
Joker fixed himself from the sofa, and laughed softly. He was too out of breath to laugh loudly. I can't believe I let that happen.
"Now will you stop?" Joker asked me. I don't know what he is talking about.
"Will you stop fighting me off. As you can see...You will always lose."I couldn't help it, but I began to softly cry. I was scared at what could happen to me if I allow this affair with Joker happen. I couldn't deny it anymore...I felt something for Joker. I never felt like this for any man--not even Slade. I felt like I was betraying him, and myself. But I felt like myself with him. He understood me, and he makes me laugh. I don't feel so alone in this cold world anymore. Joker was perfect, and trying to deny my feelings wasn't going to get me anything but heartache.
"Come here, Harley." Joker patted the empty spot next to him. I hesitated at first but I sat where he pointed.
Joker then cupped my face and wiped away my tears.
"Shh, Harley, don't you cry now. You should be smiling! Why, this must be the first time you are, well you! How does it feel to live life the way you want? Hm?"
I shook my head and gave a weak smile.
"Imagine all the fun we could have, Harley. Don't hide no more, cause I see you, Harley. And I'm not looking away. In fact, I'm smiling. So smile for me, Harley." Joker then pulled my lips to him and softly kissed me. I began to cry some more but when he pulled away I felt a smile tug my lips."There's my Harlequin."
