"I wish you could stay" Diego mumbled moving a piece of hair out of my face
"I'll come back tomorrow" I mumbled tracing on of the many tattoos on his hand
"Baby" Diego mumbled
I knew what he was going to say but I didn't want to hear it. I kept tracing his tattoos avoiding his gaze.
"You know it was amazing seeing you today but I don't want you around this place... it's so shitty" Diego said pulling his hand away from me
I bit my lip to hold back my tears. He let out a soft sigh.
"I'll be out soon ma and I promise you, I'm gonna come home. I jus gotta get my mind right Okay?" Diego said and put his finger under my chin to get me to look at him
"I miss you" I whispered still avoiding his eyes
"Look at me"
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I opened them again and looked into Diego's beautiful eyes.
"I promise baby girl" Diego said with a small smile
He leaned in and rested his forehead against mine.
Who knew when we were going to see each other again. Just because he said soon doesn't mean that it'll tomorrow, next week, or next month. For all I know it could be another eight months from now before I see him again.
I wanted him back now. I'm tired of waiting.
