CHAPTER 7 - Ambition

CHAPTER 7

 

8:17AM, Plenary Hall, Wisly University.

Rommel is seeing many students and professors from other universities, also seeing some scientist and engineers who are prominent in Mandaya, some politicians and distinguished guest invited is also coming inside the plenary hall of the university. He shakes hands on them.

Rommel saw the mayor of Mandaya.

The mayor is wearing a tuxedo turso and a lousy tied necktie. His hair almost vanished on top. He wears black shoes with a pair of socks, seems to be a different color which is black and dark blue. He wears a semi-thick eye glasses and walks with chins up and a belly seems to be the first to greet amongst all. He is holding a 10.1 inch android tablet, as if there’s something important for him to do later on the talk.

Rommel greets him, the mayor.

Rommel: Welcome mayor, I’m happy that you came.

Mayor: The Dean of Engineering and Applied Science! I can’t almost recognize you, in your handsome dress.

Rommel was touched, feeling flattered. He then murmurs inside his thoughts.

Rommel: …beautiful, Mr. Bald Head …not handsome.

Rommel: Well, thank you mayor (with a shoulder swings a little bit counter clockwise)

Mayor: Rommel, I am proud of your College. The Wisly University seems to have the best performance in Engineering and Applied Science amongst the entire University in Mandaya.

Rommel in a proud gesture, with a little chest up, and climbed right eye brow.

Rommel speaks on his thoughts.

Rommel: …only mandaya …the entire country, Mr. Bald Head.

He then replied to the mayor.

Rommel:  Well, thank you again sir.

Rommel followed by a thought.

Rommel: ... of course, it wouldn’t be like this, if I am not the dean (with a higher eye brow)

Mayor: I’ll go ahead, dean.

Rommel: Yes sir, I’ll meet you inside. (with a proud feeling to be the Dean at Wisly University)

The mayor walks inside.

The plenary hall of Wisly University is El-Grande whenever a special even comes. The decoration hanging on the walls proudly exhibits the selected arts and photo-journalism that had won by many contestants in the past years.

Light Spear saw the photo journalism posted on walls as one of the highlights as he enters the plenary hall.

He then thinks to himself.

Light Spear: ...my work will be the next.

On the other hand, Vince was at front seat, still working and finishing his power point presentation. He seems quite unprepared on the talk. He still had a little hang over.

Vince: ...always like this.

After a while, he finally finishes his power point slide.

Vince (smiling): a piece of cake.

Rommel then realizes it’s already 9:12am. There are still many registering in the plenary hall. He then comes up to the stage, touch the microphone, testing if it’s working, and began to speak. He is the moderator of the plenary talk.
