CHAPTER 17
Dr. Balacina and the Nuclear Scientist hurried up to the nuclear power plant facility. Czarlize however, gave her a calling card before they leave.
They rode in the Fortuner.
Nuclear Scientist 4 this time wears a double buckle up. He begins to have speed phobia.
Nuclear Scientist 4: …no, not again!
The vehicle speeds up to almost 160 Km/Hr.
After 1.5 hours of travel, they arrived at the facility. Dr. Balacina steps down the Fortuner firstly, running and hurrying up in the facility. Nuclear Scientist 4 didn’t follow up; he’s vomiting inside the Fortuner.
After a security check and proper identification, Vince was now inside the facility. There he was able to meet the team of Nuclear Scientists discussing a problem. There was a red alert inside the facility and almost all R&D employees are evacuating.
The Nuclear Scientist 1 checks his time.
3:40 PM
Dr. Balacina: What happened?
Nuclear Scientist 1: Someone dismantled the nuclear reactor.
Another one speaks.
Nuclear Scientist 2: We did everything we could but everything was waste. Every move that we precede only worsens the case.
He looks at the control monitoring.
Dr. Balacina: What’s the status?
Nuclear Scientist 3: Red Alert level 5 sir! The nuclear reactor will explode in an hour!
Dr. Balacina is thinking, trying to strategize.
Dr. Balacina: We have one last option, to shut down the nuclear reactor manually.
Nuclear Scientist 3: it’s too dangerous chief! The nuclear reactor room is now highly radiated. Even though one will wear the anti-radiation suit!
Dr. Balacina: I need volunteers!
The Nuclear Scientists stared at each other. None spoke. Vince got the message across.
Dr. Balacina: Alright, I’ll do it myself.
Nuclear Scientist 1: Chief, it’s too...
Dr. Balacina: Get everyone out of here. Nuclear Scientist 3 will stay monitoring the status of nuclear reactor while I manually dismantling the nuclear reactor inside.
Nuclear Scientist 2: but chief, it’s too dangerous for you to...
He shouted.
Dr. Balacina: Now!!
The Nuclear Scientists followed Dr. Balacina, everyone alerted everyone to get out and leave. Everyone is panicking and disgruntled, as if a volcano with the highest intensity is going to erupt the soonest.
Dr. Balacina changed clothes and wears the radiation suit, which looks like a NASA space suit. He prepared the tools to use in shutting down the nuclear reactor manually. Upon, walking close to the nuclear reactor room, he saw fumes of smoke in the door window with a red light similar with the ambulance in an alert level.
Dr. Balacina stands on the door for a moment. He then entered the nuclear reactor room.
