CHAPTER 27 - Newness

CHAPTER 27

 

While eating, Starcy is telling Light about her happiness for all the changes in her surroundings and all of new friends; like Lea and Summer.

Starcy: I love this year!

Light: Why?

Starcy: I experienced new things.

Light: Like?

Starcy: …many things that I’d never experienced before I disappeared.

Light: Good for you.

Starcy: You also changed a lot.

Light: Of course, I’m now 30 years old. I should act on my age.

Starcy: …and I’m still 21 years old, immature…

She suddenly became sad.

Light: Don’t think too much on that.

Starcy: You’re still kind.

Light: You too, Starcy.

Starcy: Thank you, I love you Light.

Light smiled but didn’t respond at her.

After their conversation, news from the television is saying that Mandaya City has an electricity shortage. Starcy told Light to bring her there. He insisted, but Starcy tries her best to convince him and finally, she’s allowed.

When they came there, she just touched one electric wire that directs all the houses of Mandaya City. Light was shocked because she produces lots of power to the whole place. Starcy told Light that it’s the secret power given to her.

While walking home, Starcy saw a cat, she stopped to pick it up. She remembered Chubi, her pet.

Starcy: Light, how’s Chubi?

Light: She’s already dead.

Starcy: I missed her.

Light replied in a funny voice.

Light:  Maybe she got grandson?

Starcy: Maybe?

Light: You’re family know lots of things about that.

Starcy: Never mind, I must not meet them.

Light: I know.

When they went home, Starcy saw Light’s old camera.  She holds it for one minute while her tears fall.

13 Years Ago.

Light is taking some photos around the University garden. Starcy approached her.

Starcy: Light, you really love taking photos…

Light: Yes, I am.

Starcy: Follow your dream.

Light: Thank you.

Starcy: I will support you for your upcoming photojournalism contest.

Light often joined this yearly contest but didn’t win any places, except from the last thing when Starcy was disappeared.

Light: Win or lose, I will still be happiest person on earth.

Starcy: Why?

Light: It is because I already won your heart.

Starcy: So sweet …

Some flashback of their happy moments when Starcy yearly cheers Light in his joined journalism contest. Starcy was a supportive girlfriend.

After the flashback, the scene was returned when Starcy sits besides Light in the sofa and starts a sad conversation.

Starcy: Light, changes really hurts.

Light: Starcy …

Starcy: Don’t worry about me. I just missed everything.

Light: You can start a new life.

Starcy: Maybe, I will end like this forever. Nothing is left to me except you and my high dream break into pieces.

Light: Starcy …

Starcy: Don’t speak. It’s better not to hear anything.

Light’s face became sad.

Starcy: I love you so much.
