CHAPTER 26

 

After knowing that it was really Starcy, Light let her stay into his apartment. Starcy was very happy without knowing that everything was changed.

While eating dinner, Starcy starts to talk.

Starcy: Light, I am very happy.

Light: I guess you are.

Starcy: I was very surprised that you’re now an old man.

Light: An old man?

Starcy: Yes, but for me you’re the most handsome man in the world.

Light: Thank you.

Starcy: I forgot to thank you. For accepting me and believing that it was really me.

Light: you’re welcome.

Starcy: What happened after I was gone?

Light didn’t speak and became so sad.

Starcy: I was very happy because you graduated and now you are a registered engineer. … I lost my dreams … I’m not a right woman for you now.

Tears fall to her cheeks while eating rice. Light wipes her tears and started to ask about her disappearance before their college graduation.

Light: Starcy, what happened really? The whole bus you are riding was lost. The news spread all around the Mandaya. They said that it was an alien abduction. But now you returned and you’re still young and your clothes too… The school uniform you are wearing is still the same when you disappeared nine years ago.

Starcy: Light, actually I am not suppose to be here now but I have no choice. I have nowhere to go. I was brought to where you are.

Light: Your family … They are waiting for you… They suffered too much lost and pain in your disappearance.

Starcy: I can’t … I love them …

Light: Why?

Starcy: On October 10 2014, something will happen to a power plant at Miyami. I am sent there for a mission.

Light: Mission from whom?

Starcy: It’s a secret. You should not say this to anyone. In fact it’s not important.

Light: I can’t understand.

Starcy: Before the examinations, I decided to go to your photo-journalism contest because I want to support you. That was the time when the bus driver can’t control it, until a bright light came and I wake up hearing a strange soft of a man voice. It was saying lots of things to nine of us. When I opened my eyes widen, I returned back to the church but all things was different now, even you.

Light: Starcy …

Starcy: Light, I’m still Starcy …and will always love you.

Starcy used the bed in the room while Light decided to sleep at the sofa. When the morning came, Light wear his job uniform, Starcy asked his current work.

Starcy: Where are you going?

Light: I’m going to Wisly University …

Starcy: Can I go with you?

Light; No …

Starcy: I want to be with you …

Light: I’m actually a Professor there. You are as old as my students.

Starcy: Wow … Why you don’t want to work on some companies?

Light: Starcy, it was your dream …
