Lyric walked through her front door and kicked her shoes off and walked into the kitchen. Her mother was working on dinner and her father was sitting at the table reading something. He looked up and smiled.

"How was school?" He asked. Lyric plopped down dramatically in the chair across from him and laid her forehead on the table and slid the note from Gold across the table at him.

"Whats this?" He asked.

"Just read it and sign it and then yell at me." Lyric mumbled. Darren looked over the paper in his hand

"Lyric Cadence McKenna." He sighed heavily.

"What?" Sarah asked walking over to the table. Darren handed her the note. Lyric looked up. Both of her parents had looks of disbelief.

"I guess, there is a first for everything." Sarah said.

"I don't get it Lyric. Are we visiting the teenage rebellion phase late in life? What is going on with you?!" Darren asked.

"I don't know Dad." Lyric said, and she didn't. She hadn't been herself since summer. Lyric had always had everything planned out. She was careful, and rarely swayed from that. She kicked herself. What was so damn special about Killian Jones that made her completely forget who she was. Before moving here, Lyric never would have hooked up with some random guy in a bar and she surely wouldn't have gone home with said guy.

"Well you better figure it out, and fast. Your timing is horrible, I could have handled this a couple years ago but not now. Not when you are going to throw away everything you've worked for on the second day of school!" He said and read the note again.

"I'm not the one throwing everything away! I'm clinging on to whatever is left but its not like it matters anymore!" Lyric shouted and stood up from the table.

"Go to your room." Darren said. "Leave your phone on the table and go. You are grounded."

Lyric was taken aback.

"Grounded?" She asked.

"Yeah. I'm surprised too but your behavoir has been unaccepable." Darren said. "Phone on the table. Now." He said. Lyric sighed and put her phone on the table. "Go to your room."

"I'm going.." Lyric mumbled and walked up the stairs.

It was at least an hour later before her father walked into her room with a plate of food for her and set it beside her on the desk.

"If you've come to confinscate my computer, you're going to have to wait. I'm in the middle of an assignment." Lyric sighed.

"No, your computer you can keep." Darren said. "But take a break and eat. We need to talk." He said and closed her computer. Lyric put her plate of food in her lap and spun around in her computer chair to face him. Darren sat down on the bed and sighed.

"So what happened today?"

"I got moved from Mr. Jones class." Lyric said.

"What? Why?!" Darren asked. Lyric hated lying to her parents but there was no way they could know the truth.

"I don't know, They had a meeting and a few of the students including myself got moved to a different music class." Lyric said. "So I got upset. I got overwhelmed everything I've wanted just came crashing down and I had to get out of the classroom so I left and thats how I ended up in ISS." Lyric explained. "I tried to ask him after school if he could reconsider, but he wouldn't." She said. "So, it looks like we moved for no reason."

"No.. No. I'm going to call, and you are getting back in that class. You've worked too hard to get where you are."

"Dad you can't just go yelling and screaming to get me back into the class."
