A/N: This chapter is a long one! Sorry for the cliffhanger :P

Killian was getting ready for his students. It was the first day back from Christmas break and he was anxious to see Lyric. Since her mother had caught them on New Years, he hadn't heard a word from her which wasn't surprising at all considering how mad her parents must have been. If they didn't pack up and move back to Boston he would be shocked.
"Mr. Jones?"
Killian turned and gave Tink a smile.
"Hey, Tink." He said. Tink gave him a half smile. Killian frowned.
"How is she?" He asked. Tink sighed.
"Not good. She's uh..not coming today. She wanted to, but she couldn't even make it out of the driveway without crying." Tink said. "Her parents let her stay home today but she'll be here tomorrow."
Killian sighed heavily. "How bad was it when I left?" He asked.
"It was nuclear. I've never seen Mr. McKenna lose his temper like that. Ever. She's grounded indefinitely. They took her phone and her Dad will be taking her from school for probably the rest of the year. She's allowed to be in your class but she isn't to have contact with you outside of school whatsoever. Its horrible, she is a wreck." Tink frowned.
"I need to fix this Tink. You know the McKennas. How do I fix this?" Killian asked.
Tink sighed. "Maybe with time? They will calm down and see they made a mistake there first priority has always been Lyric's happiness I'm sure when the shock factor is gone they will see that, that includes you." Tink smiled. "I have to get to class but I'll see you later."
Killian returned her smile and waved her off. "See you later Tink, and thank you."
"Anytime Mr. Jones." Tink smirked and walked out of the classroom. Killian only hoped she was right and this would blow over soon.

----------------------------------------------------

The next day, Although Lyric didn't feel ready, her parents were making her go to school. Its not that she didn't want to see Killian, she did more than anything. She just didn't know how she was supposed to look at him knowing she couldn't touch him, she couldn't kiss him.
Her father parked the car in the school parking lot by the music building. His knuckles were white around the steering wheel and his eyes were narrowed as he watched Killian walk into the building. Lyric followed his gaze.
"It's not like he forced me into anything." She mumbled. "If anything, I'm the one who tricked him. I told him I was a 22 year old student at Storybrooke U so technically I am the bad person not him."
"That is not the point. When I send you to school, I trust that these teachers have your best interest in mind, just like your mother and I do. Killian should have stopped this before it got this far. He was right to kick you out of his class.. And had I known this was the reason. I wouldn't have bothered getting you back into it." Darren barked.
"If you truly had my best interest in mind, you wouldn't do this. You wouldn't take him from me." Lyric glared at her father now.
"You don't understand it now, thats okay. You will when you have children of your own." Darren said. Lyric rolled her eyes.
"When I have children of my own, I won't forbid them from being in love." She spat.
"Is that what you think this is? Love? Its a schoolgirl crush Lyric." Darren said.
"How did you feel when you met mom? Tell me the story again." Lyric snapped.
"That is different!" Darren said.
"How is it different? Did you feel like you could do anything as long as you had her? Did you feel like your heart was jumping into your throat the moment you laid eyes on her for the first time? Do you STILL feel that?" Lyric demanded."Because that is how I feel when I am with him. How about this? How did you feel when Grandpa Jack told you, you weren't allowed to see her anymore?"
"Lyric, I am not discussing this with you."
"Because you know I am right!" Lyric practically cried out out of frustration.
"You need to go. Or you will be late." Darren said.
"Are you sure? Maybe you could follow me into class, make sure Killian doesn't try to attack me. Because you know, hes such a fucking monster." Lyric grumbled and got out of the car.
"I love you." Darren said. Lyric glared at him and slammed the car door and walked into the music building.

Lyric walked into Killian's classroom right as the bell was ringing. The second the two of them set eyes on each other, Lyric felt like she was punched in the chest and from the look in his eyes she could tell he felt it too. He cleared his throat.
"Miss McKenna.. I was beginning to wonder if you were going to be here today." He said and stuck his hands in his pockets.
"Y..yeah.." Lyric said quietly and walked to her seat.

Lyric tried so hard to focus on his lesson today but it just wasn't happening and when it was time for free play, Lyric couldn't even tune her guitar. She twisted one of the tuning pegs too far and a string on her guitar snapped startling her. She jumped and dropped the guitar. Killian's head snapped in her direction and then to the few students who were giggling while Lyric bent down and picked up her guitar sniffling. He gave them a glare and the giggles stopped. He walked over to Lyric getting a good look at her for the first time. Her eyes were red, and puffy and her face was drained of all other color. She looked miserable. Her hands shook.
"I..I'm sorry. I don't know whats wrong with me today." She stammered.
"Hey, its fine. It happens." Killian said trying to keep his own voice from breaking. "I have some extra strings in my office, leave your guitar and I'll fix it for you."
"Okay." Lyric said and gave him a nod. "Uh.. I have to go to the bathroom." She said.
"Sure." Killian nodded and stepped away from her to give her room to move. Lyric got up and nearly ran out of the music room. When she got into the bathroom her stomach twisted into knots and she vomited, she had been doing this since New Years to the point where Tink bought her a pregnancy test, but it was negative. Lyric knew she wasn't pregnant, it was just nerves. She knew this would happen when she saw him.

She stayed in the bathroom until the bell rang, and then a few minutes after that before she exited the bathroom and made her way back to the classroom to get her backpack. She walked into the classroom and watched Killian playing the piano for a couple minutes. Her eyes welled with tears. He looked up and saw her standing there watching him. The look in her eyes and the tears falling down her cheeks was heartbreaking. He stood up and walked over and pulled her into his arms. She let out a choked sob and pressed her face into his shirt as he ran his hand through her hair.
"I know love." He said into her hair as he kissed the top of her head. "We'll fix this. I promise." He whispered holding her while she cried.
"I can't do this Killian." Lyric sobbed.
"Shh..yes you can. It will be okay."
"How?" Lyric asked pulling away from him. "How is anything about this okay?"
"Its not, but it will be you have to trust me love. Can you do that?" Killian asked and wiped tears from her eyes. Lyric put her hands over his and nodded.
"I love you." She said.
"I love you too." He smiled.
--------------------------------------------------------------

1 month later

Lyric trusted Killian when he said things would get better, she did but as a month passed, she couldn't help be lose a little hope. Her grades were slipping, she had lost all interest and focus in school in general. She wasn't even doing well in Killian's class. She couldn't play. She had no desire to. Her mother noticed at the table for breakfast that morning that her daughter was not looking well. Lyric was already small framed and thin, but she was looking thinner. She had bags under her eyes from lack of sleep and she barely even spoke to her, or her father anymore. Eating made Lyric sick she could barely keep anything down.
"Lyric..honey.. Please eat." Sarah pleaded with her daughter.
"I'm not hungry." Lyric mumbled and pushed her plate away and stood up.
"I don't think you should go to school today baby you look awful." Sarah said and held her daughters face in her hands.
"Huh. Imagine that." Lyric said and pulled away from her mother.
"Besides, I have to go. We have a meeting with the guidance counselor." Lyric added and weakly picked up her backpack. "I'll be in the car." She said and walked out the door.
"Darren.." Sarah sighed.
"Yes dear?" Darren asked.
"I think we've made a horrible mistake.. I made a mistake." Sarah frowned.
"What do you mean?"
"Keeping her from Killian." Sarah explained. Darren scoffed.
"No. that was not a mistake." He said. "She'll get over it."
"Really? Because thats what I thought but have you even looked at her lately? She's practically dissolving Darren!" Sarah argued.
"I am not talking about this! Our 17 year old daughter is not going to be in a relationship with her teacher!" Darren said. "Now let's go find out what the counselor wants." He snapped and stood up grabbing his jacket and walking outside.

------------------------------------------------------

"Thank you for meeting with me so early." Archie the guidance counselor said as he welcomed Lyric and her parents into his office.
"Not a problem Mr. Hopper." Darren smiled as he sat down. "What seems to be the problem?"
"Well." Archie sighed. "Lyric's teachers have all come to me concerned. At the beginning of the school year, Lyric was top of her class her grades, her attendance, everything was perfect. However since the new year, that has all changed drastically." Archie frowned. Darren looked at Lyric.
"Is this true?" He asked Lyric shrugged.
"Why would he lie?" She asked.
"Attendance? I bring Lyric to school every day." Darren said.
"Right. She is here, but she leaves class several times to go to the bathroom, and I know you know how high school is, I'm sure you know kids come up with outlandish rumours."
"What are they saying?" Darren asked.
"One of the rumors floating around is that she is pregnant." Archie said.
"Are you??" Darren demanded.
"Darren!" Sarah hissed. "Stop!"
Lyric rolled her eyes. "No. I'm not pregnant and before you ask, no I'm not on drugs."
"Are they saying you are?" Sarah asked.
Lyric nodded. "Isn't school great?" She scoffed.
"How do we get the rumors to stop?" Darren asked.
"Unfortunately, while we can reprimand the students we hear talking about it, we can't stop the entire school, but these rumors are only a small part of why I asked you to be here today. While the rumors are troublesome, I don't believe them whatsoever, I see a much bigger problem."
"And that is?" Darren asked.
"Lack of interest, sudden mood changes, and weight loss are all telling me that Lyric may be depressed."
"Depressed?" Darren asked. "She's just being a teenager. She got into some trouble last month and she's acting out. That is all."
"I don't agree, Mr. McKenna, there is teenage rebellion, and then there is this. This is not rebellion. This is a cry for help."
Lyric rolled her eyes and stood up.
"I'm done with this. I don't need help. I just want to be left alone."
"Lyric sit down..please." Sarah said.
"No. I'm going to class." Lyric mumbled and walked out of Archies office. Darren stood up.
"Just give me a moment." He said and followed Lyric. Sarah just sighed and put her head in her hands.

"Lyric McKenna!" Darren barked. Lyric turned around and waited for him to speak again.
"Don't just walk away."
"Why would I stay in there? He clearly pointed out the problem to you Dad and you are so damn worried about keeping me from Killian that you can't see that YOU caused this. You did this to me. Are you happy? Because I'm not. I don't even know what that is anymore." Lyric scoffed and walked away.
"Lyric!" Darren shouted.
"Oh Piss off." Lyric said and kept walking.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Lyric followed Tink to the lunch table.
"You aren't eating?" Tink asked and frowned. Lyric shook her head.
"I'm not hungry." She said.
"You look like you are starving Lyric when is the last time you actually ate?" Tink asked. Lyric honestly couldn't remember the last time she actually ate and kept it down.
"This morning." She lied.
"Well, if it isn't the pregnant drug addict." Will smirked as Lyric and Tink sat down.
"Hah. Hah." Lyric muttered. Will pushed his tray in front of her.
"Eat something before you die." He said.
Lyric pushed the tray away.
"I'm fine."
"Shes not hungry." Tink said and narrowed her eyes at Lyric skeptically.
"Huh. Must be all the cocaine she does in the bathroom." Jefferson laughed.
"Really, you guys too? As if I don't get enough of this shit from Regina and her minions." Lyric snapped.
"Calm down, I was kidding." Jefferson said.
"Seriously what is up with you lately?" Victor asked.
"Nothing. I'm fine. I'm gonna go." Lyric sighed and stood up. She felt lightheaded for a moment and used the table to stable herself.
"Whoa.. maybe you should sit down." Victor said
"What are you a doctor? I'm fine." Lyric said and started walking away.

She stopped suddenly, her ears were ringing and heart started pounding. It was getting harder and harder to breathe. She felt a hand on her shoulder.
"Lyric?"
She turned to see Killian. Her vision blurred and she was seeing three of him.
"Why don't we go see the nurse you don't look good." Killian said but alls Lyric could see that his mouth was moving, she couldn't hear what he was saying.
"Lyric.." Killian said growing more concerned she seemed to be completely spaced out. She shook her head.
"I.. I'm fine." She stammered and went to step away from him and staggered. Killian reached out to steady her but she pulled away. She turned to look at him again and her eyes rolled back and she collapsed on the floor.
"Lyric!" Tink said and hurried over. Killian crouched down and checked her pulse and tried to get her to come too but she was out cold.
"Go get the Nurse. Now!" He shouted at Tink. Tink nodded and ran off.
"Come on sweetheart wake up." Killian whispered trying to get her to wake up as David, and August crouched down to help before the Nurse made her way over and Gold called for an ambulance.
