Lyric couldn't contain her excitement as her and her father arrived at the airport, She was nervous as hell for her audition but incredibly excited. Killian had met them at the airport and they were standing in line to board the plane.
"Lyric, love you are trembling." Killian frowned.
"Trust me Killian, that is not fear. She's had four cups of coffee." Darren said.
Killian smirked. "I'm officially cutting you off love before you have a heart attack."
"Listen mr. Bartender, don't you take my coffee." Lyric said and poked his chest.
"Oh i'm taking the coffee. Your audition is tomorrow morning which means you actually need to sleep tonight." Killian chuckled. The line moved up and now Lyric was nervous She'd never been on a plane before.
"Why couldn't we just drive?" Lyric asked. "Why must we be in the air?"
"Because we would have had to leave yesterday." Darren said.
"But then mom would have been able to come." Lyric frowned.
"That is why I am bringing the camera, I'm going to record it." Darren smiled. "You're mom wanted to be here Lyric but the baby doctor said it wasn't a good idea."
"I know." Lyric sighed. "Baby brother is already causing trouble and he's not even born yet."
"Oh its a boy??" Killian asked.
"Yep. Finally it will be even, I'm overruled by girls."
"Its just me and Mom." Lyric laughed.
"Might as well be Tink too." Darren said.
"Well congratulations." Killian smiled. "Have you picked a name?"
"We let Lyric pick the name. We always told her if we had another one she could name them. Thankfully its not a girl, or we would have ended up with Sparkles McKenna." Darren smirked.
"I was six!" Lyric groaned. Killian laughed.
"So what is the little lad going to be called then."
"Quintus. Quin for short." Lyric smiled.
"I should have known." Killian said returning her smile.

-------------------------------------------------

Lyric paced the floor in her hotel room The school paid for her and her fathers rooms while Killian paid for his own or else she would have just shared with him, even if it might have made her father a little uncomfortable he was warming up to him nicely but some things were still awkward for him. Her phone pinged on the nightstand and she ran over and looked at it.

Killian:
What are you up to?

Lyric:
Nothing over here. You?

Killian:
That was a test. Go to bed you! Big day tomorrow!

Lyric:
I literally read that in your teacher voice.

Killian:
Bed. Now.

Lyric:
Listen bossypants I can't sleep! I'm too nervous! Can I come to your room?

Killian:
4th floor, room 1300.

Lyric:
Be there in 5 minutes.

Killian:
Mm don't be late, you know how I feel about that Mckenna. ;)

Lyric blushed. Killian was not a mean guy by any means, he was a pretty easy going teacher, so when he had to use his teacher voice it put the fear of God into most students but Lyric found it incredibly sexy and Tink thought she was a freak for it. Lyric was a take charge type of girl, so it was nice to let someone else do it for once.
Lyric was too excited to see Killian she hadn't realized that she left her hotel key in the room as she walked out.

She took the elevator to the 4th floor and walked down the hallway to room 1300. She knocked on the door. Killian opened the door and leaned against the frame. He stood there shirtless in a pair of grey and black plaid sleep pants. Lyric cocked her head to the side and bit her lip as her eyes followed his chest hair down to the happy trail.
Killian chuckled.
"You are looking a little fuckstruck my love." He said. Lyric's face turned bright red and she pushed her way into the hotel room and gasped at the luxurious suite.
"You.. you have a hot tub? What the hell? My tub barely works." She said.
"Well that is because the school paid for yours. I paid for mine." Killian smirked.
"So not fair." Lyric whined. Killian shut his room door and locked it.
"So what's got you so nervous?" He asked and walked over behind her placing his hands on her hips and kissing her shoulder.
"The audition obviously." Lyric sighed.
"You are going to do great Lyric. I know you are. You didn't just get this audition because you are my girlfriend you realize that right? You earned it."
"I know. But this is the moment I've waited literally almost my entire life for and I'm either going to get in or I'm going to fail miserably." Lyric said.
"You are going to get in I have no doubt about it." Killian reassured.
"But what if I-"
Lyric was cut off. Killian spun her around and planted his lips on hers making her weak in the knees.
"Have a little faith in yourself love." Killian smiled sweetly as he pulled away.
Lyric smiled back at him and pressed her head to his chest.
"Still nervous?"
"Not really."
"Good. That's one problem solved." Killian said and lifted her.
Lyric squealed.
"Now let's take care of that I can't sleep problem." Killian grinned devilishly and tossed her on his bed.

-----------------------------------------------------------

"Love, get up." Killian said and nudged Lyric. Lyric groaned and pulled the pillow over her head.
"Its too early." She groaned.
"We overslept! UP!" Killian said. Lyric bolted up and found her clothes on the floor slipping them on and then looked at the clock. They had not overslept at all.
"You are evil." Lyric whined. "And I could have slept another 30 minutes!" She pouted.
"But now you are alert, and ready to go." Killian smirked. "Go on, go to your room, shower get ready and come back and we will practice."
"My piece is on Piano Killian. How are we going to practice."
"There is a piano in the lobby." Killian smirked.
"Okay. Good." Lyric smiled and patted her pockets and then started looking around the floor.
"Where is my room key?" Lyric asked.
"You lost your room key? They charge 100 dollars to replace those." Killian said.
"..shit." Lyric sighed and put her face in her hands. "I left it in the room. I remember now, I didn't have it when I came here. What am I going to do?? My sheet music is in there my clothes.."
"You go wait by your room, I'm going to go get you your key."
"I can't let you spend 100 dollars to replace my key Killian." Lyric said.
"What are your options?" Killian asked. "I am not letting you be late to your audition." He crossed his arms and gave Lyric that look that suggested he was not going to be argued with.
"Okay. I owe you." Lyric sighed. Killian smirked
"I'll think of a way you can pay me back."
"Oh I'm sure you will." Lyric giggled.
"Go on. I'll be there in a moment with your new key." Killian said and pushed her out the door.
Lyric took the Elevator back down to her floor and waited outside her room. Her Dad came out and looked at her with an eyebrow raised.
"What..are you doing?" He asked.
"I locked myself out of my room last night. Killian is getting me a new key."
"Last night? Did you sleep out here??" Darren asked.
"...No.." Lyric said.
"I..shouldn't have asked." Darren sighed.
It wasn't long before Killian returned with a key.
"Mr. Mckenna." He said awkwardly.
"Killian." Darren said.
"Lyric!" Lyric chimed in trying to lighten the mood.
Killian handed her the key. "Go get ready meet me in the lobby." Killian smiled and kissed her on the cheek.
"Okay." Lyric said returning his smile and unlocked her door walking in.
------------------------------------------------------------------

Killian and Darren were both looking for Lyric her audition was in 15 minutes and she hadn't been seen since Killian's friend Robin had given them a tour of the school.
"Where the bloody hell could she be?" Killian asked.
"Is she not answering her phone?" Darren asked.
"No. I can't get ahold of her." Killian sighed. Finally Lyric joined them.
"Where the hell have you been?" Darren asked. "You're on in 15 minutes."
"I can't do it." Lyric said panic stricken.
Killian took her shoulders.
"Yes you can. You just go in there, play your piece, and leave. Thats all you have to do." Killian smiled. "I know you can do this love."
Lyric shook her head and trembled under Killians hands. .
"Alright, my turn." Darren sighed. Killian stepped away.
"Look at me Lyric." Darren said. Lyric looked up at him with tears in her dark blue eyes. "This is it, everything you have worked for and you are going to go out there, and you are going to play your heart out and then in a few weeks you are getting that acceptance letter I believe in you. Your mother believes in you, Killian believes in you its time YOU believe in you."
"But Da-" Lyric started.
"No. No buts. You can do this. So you wipe the tears from your eyes, get your music ready and you walk out there and you don't come back until you've played your piece. Got it?" He asked. "Remember McKenna's don't quit." He smiled and pulled her close. Lyric nodded and wiped her tears away and shook back the anxiety.
"Lyric McKenna." a voice said over the intercom.
"You've got this." Killian smiled. "I love you." He whispered in her ear as he guided her towards the stage. Lyric looked back at them briefly before walking out and seating herself at the piano.
Darren turned on his video camera and started recording as Lyric began to play. It was a medley that she wrote with songs that her parents had played for her as she grew up and before he knew what was happening Darren was in tears. He hadn't heard her piece until now . Killian smiled and put his hand on Darrens shoulder.
"She wrote it for you." He said as he watched Lyric play trying to hold back his own tears, Lyric playing always made him emotional and this moment, the moment that she had been waiting for, everything felt surreal. As Lyric played the final notes of her piece, the auditorium was silent and then people began clapping and cheering Lyric stood from the piano and took a quick bow before running off the stage and jumping into Killians arms. Killian held her tightly and spun her around.
"You did it love." He said. "You did it."
