A/N: I seem to do better when I just focus on one story at a time, so for right now, This book is my main focus. I just got a job, I'm unsure of when I start so I am trying to wrap up some of my Books because when I start working,  my update frequency could take a hit. I don't know what the hours I'll be working are, or the days. So I will keep you all posted <3
Also I am not a doctor so probably half of this medical crap in this chapter is wrong. :P

Darren and Sarah rushed into the hospital and were met by Tink.
"What happened?" Darren asked.
"I don't know she just passed out in the cafeteria and no one could get her to wake up.She woke up in the ambulance complaining that her stomach hurt. but they won't say anything." Tink said panicking. "They were waiting for you guys." Darren looked down at Tink's hand that was bandaged.
"What happened to your hand?" He asked.
"One of the mean girls Kathryn, made a comment.. I tried to punch her but she moved and I hit the wall." Tink shrugged.
"Okay, just sit tight, we will find out what's going on. I'm sure everything is fine." Darren said and put his hand on Tinks shoulder. Tink nodded and took a seat in the waiting room. Darren and Sarah both went back towards the rooms to see if they could figure out what happened.

Sarah gasped as they walked down the hall looking for Lyrics room when she stopped at at window looking in. Darren stopped with her and looked into the window at his daughter laying there hooked up to ten tons of things while a doctor was running something through an IV. He hadn't noticed how sickly she had looked until now, and now he finally realized that there was a problem and he kicked himself for it. He was so blinded by anger that he didn't realize the toll it was actually taking on his kid and now seeing her lying there looking so fragile he realized the horrible mistake he had made. The doctor walked out the room and looked at them.
"Mr. and Mrs. Mckenna?" He asked.
"Yes." Sarah said. "What is going on?"
"Lyric came in a little disoriented but once she stopped panicking, She said her stomach hurt, and she felt sick and she couldn't eat because she gets sick. So we did some tests she has a pretty nasty stomach ulcer which we are treating. What concerns me, is because of the pain from the ulcer, Lyric hasn't been able to eat, and when she would eat she would get sick. Not eating is what more than likely caused the fainting spell so I've started her on Fluids, and some antacids and because of the severity, that she was nearly starving we've tubed her."
"Oh my God.." Sarah sighed.
"What caused this?" Darren asked.
"With no previous medical history of gastrointestinal issues and her being an overall healthy kid, Its hard to pinpoint, but a lot of the time teenagers and adults who are under copious amounts of stress can develop stomach ulcers. Her friend mentioned she had been incredibly stressed and anxious so It wouldn't surprise me if this was the case."
"Excuse me, a moment." Darren said and walked into the waiting room.
"She is going to be okay though..right?" Sarah asked.
"Oh yes, she will be just fine in a day or so, but she'll possibly be here the rest of the week. You can go in and sit with her She's a little loopy from sedation but she should be waking up soon."
"Thank you." Sarah said and walked into the room and sat down with Lyric.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Darren walked into the waiting room, and saw Killian sitting with Tink.
"What the hell are you doing here?" He asked.
"I came to see Lyric." Killian said glaring at him.
"That is not going to happen." Darren said shaking his head.
"Oh yea?" Killian asked standing up
"You really don't care about losing your job do you?" Darren asked.
"You know what? No! I fucking don't. The only thing I'm worried about is her and none of this would have happened if you had the same sentiment!"
"None of this would have happened if you hadn't slept with my teenage daughter!" Darren snapped.
"Guys stop!" Tink shouted.
"Stay out of this Tink." Darren said.
"No! Okay, shes my best friend and she's really sick and she could have died and you guys fighting isn't helping! I'm Sorry Mr. McKenna but what is so wrong about this? What the hell does their relationship hurt?"
"Tink. Go home!" Darren snapped. "Just go home. I will call your parents later and let them know what is going on."
Tink grumbled and walked out of the hospital.
"Will you at least tell me what is wrong?" Killian asked.
Darren sighed.
"She has a stomach ulcer, that was making her not want to eat." He said and sat down. "They've got her in IVs for fluids and medication to treat the ulcer, and they've tubed her. Because of the ulcer, when she tried to eat it was painful, or she'd get sick so apparently she just stopped trying. She was starving."
"Why didn't she say anything?" Killian asked. Darren swallowed thickly.
"She tried to. She told me a couple weeks ago that her stomach hurt.." He said and ran his hands over his face. "I told her to suck it up and stop trying to get out of going to school."
"Wonderful parenting." Killian snorted. "Were you really so mad at her over me, that you refused to see that something was terribly wrong?!"
"Yes! Okay! I fucked up, I thought you were just some high school girl crush and she would move on but I was wrong, I almost killed my fucking kid because I was pissed off she was dating her teacher." Darren said with tears in his eyes.
Killian sighed and sat down.
"I love her Darren..and I know that is wrong but at the same time nothing has ever felt more right." Killian sighed. "I..put in my resignation today after this school year I'm leaving my job as a teacher."
"You're quitting your job? For her?" Darren asked.
"I'd do anything for her. It's just a job it's replaceable, but Lyric.. She's not." Killian said and gave him a sad smile.
"Does she know?" Darren asked.
"No. I figure I wont tell her until graduation, I don't want her to stress anymore but I am begging you, not for me, but for her don't tear us apart." Killian pleaded.
Darren sighed heavily.
"It's..going to take a lot of getting used to..but I can't do this, I can't do this to her." He said.
"So.. We can keep seeing each other?"
Darren nodded in response and stood up needing some air, he walked outside.
------------------------------------------------------

Sarah felt Lyrics hand gently squeeze hers and looked up.
"Hey mom." Lyric mumbled.
"Hey baby." Sarah smiled and pushed her daughters dark hair out of her face.
"I feel like a lab experiment." Lyric said.
"I bet." Sarah said laughing a little.
"Where's Dad?" Lyric asked.
"I think seeing you like this took its toll on him. I can go get him if you want."
"No.. Its okay." Lyric frowned.
"I'm sorry Lyric. I made a mistake.. I should have cooled off before I told your father anything about Killian."
"Its okay. I should have just been honest with you guys." Lyric replied and tried to sit but winced
"Careful baby."
"What the hell is that?" Lyric asked looking in horror at the tube running into her stomach.
"It's a feeding tube Its only temporary you were basically starving because of the ulcer. Lyric why didn't you tell anyone you were in pain?"
"I tried to tell Dad but he told me to suck it up and stop trying to get out of school." Lyric said quietly. "He's..really mad at me."
"No..baby he's not. I think he's just mad at himself."
Lyric nodded and looked down at her hands.
"Look, I get it, school sucks but really?" Killian asked. Lyric looked up and her whole face lit up and Sarah knew there wasn't going to be anything in this world to keep them apart. She put her hand on Lyrics.
"I'm going to see what your dad is up to. I'll be back." She said and gave Killian an apologetic look as she stood and walked out of the room. Killian walked in and took Sarah's spot. Sarah watched the two of them talking for a few minutes before walking away.
"How bad of a freak show was I at school?" Lyric asked.
"You are sitting here hooked up to 100 machines and you are concerned how you looked at school?" Killian asked.
Lyric just gave him a look.
"Well, I've personally never seen Gold look so concerned for anyone but himself so there's that." Killian smiled. "Oh and you missed Tink trying to punch Kathryn in the face for making a stupid comment. Knowing Scarlet theres video footage." Killian chuckled.
Lyric smiled.
"I've missed this." She said.
"Me too." Killian said putting his hand in hers lacing their fingers together.
"Did you see my dad?" Lyric asked.
"Yeah. Hes uh beating himself up pretty bad over this. But..we talked and he said it will take some getting used to, but basically seeing you with me, is better than seeing you like this." He said
"Really? We can be together?" Lyric asked.
"Aye." Killian smiled. "With the usual rules intact, we need to be careful in school." Killian said.
"Of course." Lyric nodded. Killian looked around before leaning in and kissing her listening to the beeping on the monitor reading her heart rate pick up. He pulled away breathlessly.
"You've no idea how long I have wanted to do that." Killian sighed.
"Oh.. I can imagine." Lyric smiled.

--------------------------------------------------------

Lyric had hardly seen her father for the whole week she was in the hospital. On the day that she was being discharged she was standing up stretching her legs and walking around the room when Darren walked in.
"Hey." He said softly. Lyric turned around and half smiled.
"Hey." She said.
"How are you feeling?" Darren asked.
"Ready to be home." Lyric replied.
"I imagine."
"Thank you for sneaking pot roast in here yesterday." Lyric said.
Darren chuckled. "Well, I figured you may actually eat my cooking over whatever they feed you in here."
"I devoured it."
"No problems?"
"Nope." Lyric smiled. Darren sighed.
"I can't even begin to tell you how sorry I am kiddo.. For everything."
Lyric nodded. "Its..okay I shouldn't have lied about Killian maybe it wouldn't have been so bad."
Darren shrugged. "I don't really know about that."
"But you..are okay with me seeing him now?" Lyric asked.
"I am okay with whatever makes you happy, and I'm sorry it took all of this for me to realize it." Lyric walked over to her Dad and wrapped her arms around him hugging him tightly.
"I don't ever want to fight like that again." She sniffled.
"Me either kid, Now come on lets get you out of here and never return?"
"At least until Mom goes into labor." Lyric agreed.
"What do you want to do now that you are free?" Darren asked.
"Would it be horrible if I told you I wanted to go to Killians? I really need to practice for my Juilliard audition in april. It's coming up fast."
Darren smiled and put his hand on her shoulder. "I'll need directions, so lead the way."
Lyric returned his smile thankful that things were finally going the right way.
For now.
