A/N: Have some angst. because. angst. :P
Killian didn't know if he should try to run, or perhaps see if this situation could be easily diffused, maybe Lyrics mother didn't see everything.
"Mom.. just let m-" Lyric started but Sarah shook her head.
"Lyric go inside." She said.
"But mom.." Lyric pleaded.
"Lyric, go. Now!" Sarah demanded and pointed towards the door. There was no mistaking it now, Sarah knew, and Killian was a deadman. Lyric looked at Killian with a look that he wasn't sure was fear, or sympathy before giving her mother a nod and walking into the house. Sarah approached Killian.
"Mrs. McKenna please.. Just let me explain."
"Please, do explain why you are kissing my 17 year old daughter!" Sarah hissed.
"Well, the short answer would be that I love her." Killian said. "It's not illegal. The age of consent is 16 in Maine." Killian said in defense.
"And that is supposed to make it better?! Is that what you would tell the school board to save your job? That it's not illegal? Legality, is not the issue here Killian, the issue is morality, this is wrong in so many ways. You are her teacher!"
"I know.. I know. But to be fair I didn't know she was a student, and she didn't know I was a teacher when we met." Killian explained.
"So you are bar guy then." Sarah scoffed.
"Aye." Killian replied.
Sarah shook her head.
"No." She said.
"I'm sorry.. No?" Killian asked.
"No, this is not happening. This ends. Now." Sarah snapped.
"Please just.. Let the two of us talk to you and Darren together we can work this out."
"There is nothing to work out, Killian. And I assure you, that while my husband is pretty calm tempered, he is going to make my threats look like childsplay. This ends now, or when school starts back up, I go to the school board."
Killian sighed. "Think about it. Don't do this right now. You are angry, but think about Lyric what's best for her."
"I am thinking about what is best for her Killian and that is not you!"
"Please, I love her." Killian begged. "Don't do this."
"You need to leave." Sarah said looking away "and if I find out that you are still seeing her, you won't have a job and I will find a way to get you thrown in prison."
"Sarah.." Killian sighed.
"Go!" Sarah snapped.
"Okay.. okay.. I am leaving." Killian said and put his hands up before walking to his car.

Lyric stood in her window watching Killian leave, and she couldn't stop the tears from coming, this was it. It was over. She felt her heart drop into her stomach and she felt sick. Tink walked into her room.
"Hey..you okay?" She asked. "Wheres Killian?"
"He's leaving." Lyric said and sat down on her bed shaking.
"Hey.. hey. What happened?" Tink asked sitting down next to her.
"Everything is ruined. Mom knows." Lyric sobbed. Tink wrapped her arms around Lyric while she cried. "She's making him leave.. And I don't know if I'll see him again."
"You will, this will blow over, your mom is pregnant and shes probably in shock, but I know your mom she always has your best interest at heart and she'll see that Killian isn't so bad."
"But what if it doesn't? Tink.. I love him." Lyric cried.
"It will." Tink reassured her. "Just give it some time."
"Can you stay tonight? I don't want to be alone.." Lyric sniffled.
"Of course." Tink replied. Lyric looked down at her phone as it lit up on the bed beside her.
Killian:
Its only temporary love, I will find a way to fix this. I love you.
Lyrics eyes welled with tears, it wasn't that she didn't believe him she knew eventually he would find a way, but what was going to happen in the meantime.
"After your birthday there won't be anything anyone can do to stop you two."
"But my birthday isn't until June Tink! What am I supposed to do until then? Just pretend I don't love him?"
"No. We will figure it out." Tink smiled. "If I have to help sneak the two of you around you know I will."
Lyric gave her friend a half smile. "I love you Tink." She said.
"I know." Tink grinned.
"She WHAT?" Lyric and Tink both cringed at the sound of Darren yelling downstairs.
"Oh God.. she's telling him.." Lyric groaned and put her head in her hands.
"Maybe not?" Tink suggested.
"Lyric! Downstairs! NOW!" Darren yelled.
"Okay.. so I was wrong. I will be up here until its safe for me to come down." Tink said and hugged Lyric.
Lyric stood up.
"Remember me well." She sighed as she walked out of the room and down stairs. Everyone else had left, Sarah was sitting on the couch and Darren was pacing the floor he stopped when he looked up at Lyric.
"What the hell were you thinking?" Darren asked. "Your teacher?!"
"I didn't know he was my teacher Dad.." Lyric said defensively.
"No, not at first but once you knew this should have ended!" Darren barked. Lyric flinched.
"We tried to end it. We tried to stay away from each other but it didn't work." Lyric explained.
"Then you should have made it work because this is not acceptable. He is your teacher and everything about this is wrong and I don't care that you are of legal age to consent, this ends."
"Daddy please.." Lyric begged her eyes filled with tears. "I love him. Please don't do this."
"You can stay in his class, but if he so much as looks at you in a way I don't like, his career is over, and we will pack up and move back to Boston faster than you can imagine!"
"But Dad!" Lyric protested.
"No! I don't want to hear it. Your mother and I are being generous as is and letting him keep his job, only because you need this class but don't think that I won't yank you out of that school because of this. I will if you try to see him."
"This isn't fair!" Lyric shouted. "What the hell is so wrong about me loving him?!"
"He is in a position of authority he should have never allowed this to happen! It is wrong." Darren shouted back. "What's not fair, is using the trust your mother and I have put into you this way, you have been lying to us since July! That isn't you.None of this is you, Lyric you were supposed to be better than us, you were supposed to be smarter."
"Why? Why does it fall on my shoulders to be the perfect fucking kid? Just because you two were fucking screw ups?!"
"Lyric Cadence!" Sarah scolded her.
"Why did you have to tell him?!" Lyric demanded.
"Don't speak to your mother like that!" Darren snapped. "Your mother and I don't keep things from each other, and it was something we had hoped to pass onto you. But you have broken our trust. Shattered it."
Lyric rolled her eyes.
"Really?" Darren asked.
"Yeah! Really." Lyric snapped.
"You are grounded. Indefinitely, No phone, No computer unless its for homework, You go to school, and you come home and I will be there to take you to school and I will be there to pick you up just to make sure I know where you are."
"I am not a child!" Lyric screamed.
"Yes! You are!" Darren yelled back. "You are 17 fucking years old Lyric! Okay, this discussion is over. Give me your phone, and go to your room." Darren said Lyric took her phone from her pocket and slammed it into his hand and turned around and walked up the stairs she slammed her door shut so hard, Tink thought it would break and then she sat down against the door and started bawling. She had never fought like that with her parents. Tink rushed over and sat next to her.
"It's going to be okay." She said.
"How?!" Lyric demanded. "I love him. But if I try to see him, his career is over and it will have been my fault!" Lyric sobbed. "What am I supposed to do Tink?" Lyric asked. "He is everything to me."
"We are going to figure it out. I promise." Tink said pulling her friend close trying to reassure her, but honestly Tink had no idea how they were going to figure this out. This was a mess.

"Maybe this was for the best." Liam said as he handed his brother a beer.
"How is this for the best??" Killian asked.
"This was going to happen sooner or later, But at least this way, you get to keep your job." Liam explained.
"Do you honestly think I care about that?" Killian asked. "I love her Liam. A job is a job. I can get another one."
"But you love teaching and you love teaching music and I'll be damned if I'm going to sit here and watch you screw up your life over a bloody teenager!" Liam snapped.
"She's not just that!" Killian yelled. "You don't know her like I do! I love her, with everything I have I love that girl and I would rather lose my job than see her every day and not be able to kiss her." Killian said.
"Killian, come on man think about this." Liam sighed.
"I am thinking about it. I love her Liam and I have to get her parents to see that, and if I have to quit so be it."
"You can't be serious Killian. You can't quit!"
"I will if that is the only thing that stands in our way, I'll quit right fucking now." Killian barked.
"Sleep on it, I will talk to Darren and Sarah and see if I can't get this sorted but do not do anything stupid! And do not try to contact her until we get this figured out. Okay? I'm only looking out for you."
"I Know." Killian sighed. "You don't have to talk to the McKenna's if anyone should do it, it should be me." Killian suggested.
"Aye, perhaps, but as I said, I care for you, and I am not about to send you into the fire. Darren could probably kill you about now." Liam sighed. "Let me."
"Fine." Killian sighed and stood up. "I'm going to bed. Goodnight brother." He said.
"Goodnight." Liam replied. "I'll lock up the house before I leave."
"Thanks.." Killian mumbed.
Killian walked down the hall to his bedroom and shut the door. He peeled his clothes off and walked over to the bed and pulled the covers back on his bed and crawled in and that is when the first wave of tears hit. It was over, before it had even gotten a much of a chance to begin, it was over.
