Her door is locked.

It took him a full day to realize that maybe, Alyssa is carrying his child. His child! After the call with Roy last night, he was raving mad, drank his way to sleep. He woke up late in the day, and missed work because of hangover.

After lunch, he went to his grandpa's house, and narrated what happened. Emotionless, speechless, his grandfather just stared ahead.

And just as he was ranting about what Roy has told him, he soon realized some semblance of logic. Maybe Alyssa is really with his child. They have been doing it, making love, every moment they are together. And how can she be intimate with someone else after she ran away? Unless she has already had someone else while they have been together, which seems impossible...

And Kiefer, in the deepest recesses of his heart, believed she has loved him, only him.

He remembered something and ran back to his house, and looked for the letter she left him.

He read it... Re-read it...

"...I loved you. I love you. You are my greatest love story, and I could never be more thankful for that shared and stolen time of loving you..."

Had she known she was with child then? If so, why did she have to leave him? It doesn't make sense...

He contacted Roy, and asked for details of Alyssa's new place. He gave it to him, and the first thing he did the next day, was rush over to her place.

Only to find her gone.

Where did she go?

He is starting to hate her again, because of what she makes him feel again... Because he could still feel the pain of being left alone, without any answers.

She stepped out of the taxi, and started to unload her bags. She's home, and she has never been more afraid.

She was supposed to have a check up with her OB today, but decided against it. She'll just have to look for another one in the nearest hospi-

"Ineng?"

Her mother came out of the doorway, looking at her through the gate. She smiled hesitatingly, not sure of how they'll accept the fact that she has sullied her reputation...

"Inay..."

Her mother could sense something in Alyssa. She's glad that her daughter is home, but she knows there is something wrong. There was something in Alyssa's eyes that tells her that something isn't right.

"Bakit ang dami mong dala? Bakit ka nauwi?" she asked, reaching for her daughter and hugging her. Alyssa hugged her back, holding on to her. "Inay," she whispered, and held on to her mother.

"Pasok muna tayo... Teka...," she reached for a bag, "Beltring, Ana, patulong naman dito. Andito si Alyssa..."

There was a happy and loud welcoming when her relatives started pouring out, and helped her get inside the house. Her mom hurriedly ushered her inside her room, and while her relatives deposit her stuff on the floor.

She closed her room after they left, and confronted Alyssa. "May problema ka, ano?" her mom asked, without preamble.

Alyssa dropped her head, not sure what to say, where to start. She could never lie to her mother, she never has lied to her. Eyes brimming with unshed tears, she started with a nod.

Her mom sat beside her on the edge of her bed, and hugged her. "Anak, may nangyari ba? Naghiwalay kayo ni Kiefer? Ano?"

Alyssa nodded her head again, then raised her face to look at her mom's loving face. "Bumalik na si Sarah..."
