It was now April and the Spring Musical was right around the corner. A specific iconic core four group of Riverdale was particularly excited. A smiling Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge and Jughead Jones were packed into a booth at Pops Chocolate Shop waiting for a casting email to enter their inbox. "It's 8:59 and I'm freaking out!" said a beaming Archie. "I'm just waiting for my role as Sue Snell" bragged Veronica. Jughead rolled his eyes. He had never really liked Veronica. He was just forced to befriend her because of Betty and Archie. But he tucked his annoyance away and put on a smile. It was now 9:00pm and they all obsessively refreshed their emails waiting for their letter from Kevin Keller, their friend and the shows' director. It was actually 9:01 when the email hit their inboxes. Veronica's smile had instantly dropped. She was cast as Chris Hargensen and Betty Cooper, the perfect girl next door, got Sue Snell. Which would have been alright for V except after seeing who Archie was cast as. Tommy Ross. Of course. Why would Kevin do this to her? She had been generally nice to him. Sue and Tommy were the most romantically involved characters in the whole show. Veronica looked up from her phone and rubbed Archie's back as if to say "congrats". She could see Jughead's face in the corner of her eye and he didn't look happy. "Yes!" Betty exclaimed. Betty and Archie smiled at each other for what seemed like too long to Veronica. "Congrats you two!" Veronica said as she pulled Archie in for a kiss. That night when Veronica crawled into her satin sheets she could tell that things would soon be changing. And she couldn't tell if it was for the good or bad.
