Tutor for Aaliyah Mendes

Prom pt. 1

Time: 4:00

We just got home from school.

Shawn, Aaliyah and I were on the couch watching TV.

Karen walked in, " hello guys. Shawn! The proms tonight and I wanna see you in your cute little black suit." She laughed.

Shawn stood up, " mom can I talk to you for a second?" They walked into the far end of the kitchen.

They tried their hardest to whispered, but I could still hear them.
" mom! I'm not going to the stupid prom if Skylar's not going. She's still thinking about her mom." Shawn said.

Karen put her hand on her son's shoulder, " your going to prom, if you like it or not. And I know Skylar and I knew Audrey, and she would want her daughter to go to her prom."

Shawn hugged her and ran up the stairs.

Karen was looking in the fridge.
" I'm going to make a salad for dinner."
I was walking up the stairs, " I'm not hungry right now."

I laid my bed and started to read, " The Outsiders".

* a couple hours later."
I walked down stairs and everyone was taking pictures of Shawn in his black suit with his white flower pinned on his jacket.

I laughed, " you look cute Shawn." He smiled.
Then Matt pulled up In the drive way, " Shawn! Come on!"

" bye mom and dad." Shawn said. " Skylar please come!" He begged. I looked down.

I walked up to room after Shawn left.
Knock
Knock
Karen came into my room.
" Skylar, sweetheart? Why don't you want to go the prom?"
I wanted to cry, I wanted to yell!
" the day after my mom and I were supposed to go shopping for Prom dresses." I admitted.

" oh honey." She gave me a big hug.
She finally released, " I have good news for you."
She got up, walked out of the room and came back a couple seconds later with a lovely and beautiful, coral color dress. It was a two piece.

She finally speak, " a couple weeks before she left, we wanted to look at stuff for you and Shawn, and she came across this." She pointed to the dress. " and she instantly feel in love with it, but she did not know if you would like it."

I stood up shaking. " I love it!" I cried out.
" it's beautiful and I can see my mom picking this out." I laughed.

She handed me the dress, " i know it would mean the world to both me and your mom if you worn this tonight." Karen smiled

I wiped my tears away, " I would Be honored. Thank you."
I hugged her and then ran to the bathroom.
I put on the dress, some white heels, gold rings and headed down stairs.

Karen was in tears when she saw me, " you look so beautiful Skylar. Your mother is so lucky to have such a beautiful girl, as such as your self."

Her words brought me to tears, " thank you, and thank you for all of this. One more thing, can you drive me to prom?"

She was grinning, " is that even a question?"

Before I stepped one foot out of the door, Karen stop me.
" one more thing. Your mother and I picked this out for you."

It was a gold chained necklace with a golden heart in the middle, and on the back it was a moon.
I laughed, " moon... Sky."
Karen chuckled and she put it on me.
