" Get up sleepy head. Mom is cooking breakfast!" Aaliyah said while jumping on my bed.
I yawned, " good morning Aaliyah. What time is it?"
" 7:40"
I pulled the covers off of me and stood up.
" come on Sky."
She pulled me out of my room and down the stairs.
I saw Mrs and Mr Mendes cooking pancakes and Shawn was on his phone.
" I'm so sorry Sky. Aaliyah you do not wake someone up like that." Karen said. She flipped a pancake.
I sat down at the kitchen table along with Shawn and Aaliyah.
" would you like some orange juice Skylar?" Manny asked.
" sure." I poured my self a glass.
We all sat down and ate.
While we were eating, Shawn asked.
" Skylar, I have an extra ticket to the Toronto maple leafs game tonight at 7. Would you like to come?"
" depends, who are they versing?" I laughed
" buffalo." Shawn said, while shoving a pancake into his mouth.
" Sure! Now this is going to be a good game. They played 3 times already and Toronto won once."
He had a grin on his face, " maybe they can get revenge tonight."
" yeah."

After everyone was finished eating, we all cleaned up.
I went up to my room, made my bed, took a shower and got dressed.
Black leggings with a dark blue and white t-shirt.
After I got ready, I called my mom.
She's doing good, but her sister is overwhelmed. My aunt has 3 kids and they all have important events this weekend.
Starting from basketball tryouts to band concert and shopping. She's not going to be home for a while.

I really miss my mom even when she's at work. My dad left us, and I'm the only child at home. If I did not have my mom, I life would be a mess right now.
Same with Mrs. Mendes though. Karen treats me like one of her own, and she's my moms best friend, and for her family, I think it would be just be my mom and I. I am so thankful for Karen, Shawn and my mom.

" Hey Skylar, can I come in?" Shawn yelled
" it's open!" I shouted back.
He came in with a huge smile on his face.
" for tonight I was thinking we should leave around 5:50. Because the rink is around an hour away."
" okay sounds like a plan." I shrugged.
" also, do you have any Toronto maple leafs shirts?"
" no, but I can wear the teams colors."
He laughed, " no, this is your first game. Your wearing Toronto Maple leafs."
He grabbed my hand/ wrist and pulled me out of my bed and straight into his room.
" Shawn, it's fine really."
" no, this is your first Game Sky-" I stopped him.
" stop saying that Shawn!" I begged.
He looked at me concerned.
" what's wrong Sky?"
When I was younger and when it was me, my mom and my dad, we were going to go to a leafs game. That night I mom had an huge problem at work, so she had to go in. And for my dad, he left the next morning."
He hugged me, " I'm so sorry Skylar." When he hugged me, it was warm and I felt save.
He stood up and pulled out a blue and white sweatshirt.

" here try this." He handed me the sweatshirt. I turned it around and it said, ' Mendes 10'.
" Shawn what is this?"
He smiled, " when I played, my number was 10, and so my parents got this for me."
I bit my lip, " Shawn you should wear this tonight, not me."
He fixed his hair, " it would mean the world for me, if you would wear it."
I nodded and went back to my room.

While I was reading I fell asleep.

" Sky."
" Skylar, honey get up."
I wiped my eyes, " huh?" Karen was standing in my room.
" dinner is ready."
I nodded and went down stairs.
The time was 4:52. When I woke up. Shawn and I ate quickly and I got ready, and then we left.
