>>an unexpected meeting with the devil<<
[ANGEL]
It would've been pitch dark if it weren't for the few street lights that were decorated along the sidewalk. I walked at a steady pace as I was too tired from work and it being my first time to lock up.
I felt my heart rate slowly rise as I heard someone running in the distance. I slowed down my walking and turned my head but didn't see anyone, the streets completely deserted. I let out a breath as I thought maybe my mind was playing tricks on me. I continue walking, everything still silent but after a couple seconds I freeze when I hear a scream.
A man's voice crying out in desperation sends chills down my body. I'm still unable to move as I'm too afraid to look at what's happening. The screaming continues and it sounds like it's coming from an alley a few feet ahead of me. I finally build up the courage to walk over and see what's happening when I hear a man's wicked laughter fill the air.
As I slowly make my way towards the alley I feel my heart slam against my rib cage. Regret rushes over me but I know it's too late to turn back. My breathing is unsteady as I put my hand on the brick wall and look over at the scene. As I do I hear the gunshot go off and a lifeless body pour blood out onto the ground.
I let out a gasp before I'm able to fully process what happened. As I stand there, with tears pouring down my face, I see the man with the gun turn to look at me. In that moment I felt nothing but petrified, not knowing what would happen to me. He starts to walk towards me and my mind is telling me to run but my body doesn't listen.
I let out a loud sob as I see the large, broad body approach me. He forcefully grabs my arm and pushes me up against the brick wall. I'm left almost breathless at the impact of my back against the hard surface. He's breathing hard and so am I, only difference is that my body is shaking.
He notices my obvious fear as a chuckle leaves his lips. I dare to look at the lifeless body next to us on the ground. It was an older man, maybe in his fifties, draped in a dirty suit. Flashes of his screams flood my mind and I can't help but feel sad for him. But quickly that sadness goes away as I feel the man's grip on my arms tighten.
My body stiffens as I dare to look up at him. He's a lot taller than me, by a couple feet, but besides the height difference another feature catches my eyes. He has those piercing, icy blue eyes that intimidate like hell. I part my lips in awe of his eyes, still not being able to make out any of his other features.
I hear a low chuckle that snaps me out of my daze. "Scared? I'm not gonna hurt you, darling. At least not yet."
He keeps his voice low to a frightening point. But what throws me off is his english accent, definitely wasn't expecting that.
I open my mouth to speak but nothing comes out. All I can manage is to shake my head, almost unnoticeable. He loosens his grip around my right arm and reaches in his pocket pulling out the gun he had previously used. He places it to my temple and I let out a shaky breath.
"Please don't... I won't tell anyone. I promise." I whisper, my voice sounding almost hoarse but definitely weak.
He laughs at my reaction, "It's not up to me whether I get to kill you tonight." He brings his face closer to mine and whispers in my ear, "If it were up to me, I'd say you're too pretty to die." I shiver in disgust earning another low chuckle from him.
He lets go of my other arm and takes out his phone. After dialing down a number he finally brings the phone to his ear. After a couple seconds someone answers on the other line.
"Yes the job is done." The man in front of me begins to say, still making sure the gun is firmly pressed against my temple and stares at me intently.
"Don't get too happy, because we have a problem. Someone saw the whole thing." He continues talking on the phone to the anonymous person on the other line but I'm too busy worrying about what may or may not happen to listen to their conversation.
I get consumed by my thoughts before I can help it. What's going to happen to me? Why did he kill this innocent man? Was the man innocent? Who is he talking to on the phone...his boss? My mind was over washed with a million questions. Soon all my questions are put away when I notice he hangs up and puts the phone back in his pocket.
He lets out a disappointed sigh while once again harshly grabbing my arm and I'm now convinced there are bruises left behind.
"You're lucky the boss is feeling nice tonight." his voice laced with darkness.
I felt a breath hitch in my throat as he forcefully turned me around so my front was now in contact with the brick wall. Thoughts of what he could do next scared me. But I was slightly relieved when all he did was tie my hands together with a handkerchief, nothing compared to what I was thinking. I feel his cold hands lay on the sides of my arms to turn me around again so that we're face to face. Without a word he tightens his grip at my wrists where the handkerchief is and lays his other hand over my mouth. I squirm, trying to free myself from his harsh grip but find myself unsuccessful.
He pushes me forward so we begin to walk, past the body and further down the alley, opposite of where I came from. My emotions are now a mix of fear, worry, but also curiosity. Despite all the horrible things that just happened within a matter a minutes I couldn't help but feel curious as to everything behind it.
We finally reach the other end of the alley way when I see a black jeep pull up, the headlights nearly blinding me. He opens the back door and shoves me into the back seat without warning. He's quick to get into the passenger seat of the car and soon the car begins to swiftly move away from the crime scene.
After a couple seconds I'm able to balance myself and sit upright. I notice another man in the driver's seat and look into the small mirror to get a better look at him. He has black, short, slick hair and hazel eyes. He has an intimidating expression but I can't help at notice a small scar near his eyebrow. I then look over to get a better look at the guy who brought me here. I'm now able to see more than just his cold, blue eyes. He has dark brown hair, short but a bit longer than the other man's hair. Also wearing a mean and hard face.
We all sit in silence and I'm kind of in shock that they're not saying anything to each other. Where are we going? I bite my lip nervously as I look out the window and I'm unable to recognize where we are. The car has slowed down a bit and that slightly put me a bit at ease. Before I'm able to stop myself, I start talking.
"What are your names? Where are we going? What's going to happen?" I start blabbing on before the one in the passenger seat cuts me off. His eyes seem a darker shade of blue then when I saw them earlier.
"Well if you keep asking questions I'll shoot right here right now!" The anger in his voice shuts me up and I feel so small compared to him, to the both of them.
He eyes me for a second before sighing. "My names Josh and that's Grayson. And for your other question, you'll find out when we get there." he spits and turns back around.
I look down at my lap as all I can think about is how I ended up this situation. What will they do to me? Fear starts striking in again as more tears roll down my cheeks. I don't want to look weak in front of them but I can't help it. I also know that for my best I should keep my mouth shut, but my curiosity gets the best of me.
"Why'd you kill him?" I ask them, my voice just above a whisper.
They both seem to stiffen at the question and I immediately regret asking. Josh turns around slowly, "He messed with fire." he shrugs and turns back around with a smirk plaster on his face.
"What do you mean?" I fish for an answer.
He looked into the mirror to look back at me and says, "He messed with Harry Styles." clearly losing his patience.
I furrow my eyebrows, still nothing making sense to me but I decide to leave the case be for another time when I have more energy. My eyes are weary and sting from all the tears and before I know it I close my eyes and drift off.
