>> baby, knowing you're keeping secrets is killing me <<

[ANGEL]

I stepped out of the shower into a hot bathroom with the walls covered in a layer of water and steam. I grabbed the towel to dry myself and then held it around my body as I made my way to my clothes.

I bent over the sink counter to get a better look at my face. My eyes were slightly red and puffy with a tired expression draped on my face. I sighed while stepping back and removing the towel from my body.

I placed the last article of clothing onto my body before looking down at my lazy outfit. I walked out the bathroom while combing my wet hair with my fingers. I made it mid way before I heard a noise coming from the opposite hallway. I turned my attention towards the forbidden direction.

The sound of glass breaking made me jump before I heard a door being shut. The sound of his heavy footsteps filled my ears and I rushed back into my room before he could see me.

I tried to calm down my adrenaline so I'd be able to close my door gently without making noise. I pressed my back against the door waiting for a sign of him leaving.

"No! Ugh, okay fine. I'm on my way Louis!" His yelling was laced with stressed and I couldn't help but wonder what made him so mad all of a sudden.

The sound of his footsteps died out as he went further and further away down the stairs. I turned around to put my ear against the door and felt relieved when I heard the front door close.

I breathed in and out before slowly turning the knob and peeking my head through the door opening. Johanna wasn't in sight, good.

I made my way to the top of the staircase, where both hallways meet, and stood over the railing to make sure Johanna wouldn't sneak up on me. Turning around I was satisfied that she was busy in the kitchen and hopefully wouldn't come up here.

I inched closer and closer towards the mysterious hallway. I put my hand on the wall, resting my body on it. Should I? Hesitation shot through me and suddenly I wasn't sure whether I wanted to know what he was hiding or not.

I took my bottom lip in between my teeth, letting a couple seconds pass by as I debated.

"Fuck it." I murmured to myself.

The further down the hallway I went, the darker it got again. I traveled down for a couple seconds before realizing how much longer this hallway was. I started getting impatient when I didn't see anything besides the continuous hallway.

I picked up my pace, hoping to find something soon. Then there it was. I scrunched up my eyebrows and parted my lips. This is it?

"Seriously?" I whispered. This is what I was looking for?

A stair case... another stair case. I sighed. Probably how he stays in shape. I shook my head from thinking about Harry and let out a scoff.

I turned my head to find an empty, dark hallway behind me. The whole vibe of the place sent a shiver down my spine.

I turned back to face the stair case and slowly headed for it. I placed my hand on the cold, wooden railing and began going up. It would've been dead silent if it weren't for the creaking of the steps and my breathing.

I made it to the top of the steps finding the third floor I didn't know existed. It was a lot brighter up here as I noticed the ceiling was made of glass. The now noon sun, I'm guessing, lit up the third floor enough to make me feel calmer.

To the left of the stairs was a dead end, unlike the right side. Turning to my right, another hallway. Geez! Thankfully it's much, much shorter than any of the other ones in the house.

I began walking towards a white door at the end of the corridor. I made it there quickly and hesitantly put my arm out, ready to place it on the door knob. My finger tips got closer and closer to the metal knob when suddenly I hear someone clear their throat.

I automatically freeze. Shit. I couldn't even work up the courage to bring my arm back down to my side. I was in no way prepared to face Harry again, I shouldn't have come up here. Who knows what he'll do to me this time.

I soon felt a warm hand gently place on my shoulder. I cautiously turned my head to look over my shoulder and found Johanna standing behind me. How didn't I hear her?

"What are you doing dear?" Her voice was still gentle although she was obviously disappointed in me. I looked down at my hand, still close to the door knob, in shame.

"I-I just wanted... I heard..." I couldn't make out a sentence. The truth : curiosity took over me once again and I couldn't help not knowing what he was hiding.

Johanna grabbed my wrist and led me back down stairs. I didn't fight against her, not only because I felt safe around her but also because I felt frustrated. I felt like everyone was keeping secrets from me not just Harry but my whole life. I've always been left locked in a cage.

I sat down on a stool and rested my head on my hands. I felt a heavy frown on my face as I was still wondering about that door. Johanna began making some tea so I took this chance to ask.

"Do you know what's behind that door?" I blurted out.

She continued with the tea almost as if she wasn't fazed by my question.

"No, I don't dear."

I closed my eyes. Ugh.

"Well how'd you know I was up there?"

"I didn't. I went up to clean the floors and that's when I caught you." She seemed amused.

She turned back around and handed me a mug with tea. I gave her a small smile as a thank you.

I took a sip, wincing as I almost burned my tongue. I placed the mug on the counter to let it cool off.

"How come you're not lecturing me about it?"

She raised her brow. "Well, I don't blame you for wanting to know. Just don't get caught by Harry. And don't get him too mad." She winked before turning a round and getting back to her cooking.

No promises.
