Chapter 4 |The Warmest Feeling|

|Sonic's.POV|

I woke up feeling warmer than I ever did in the winter time, my eyes were half open but I was conscious enough to see that my face was almost buried in something fluffy. At first I thought it was a fluffy pillow, I purred next to it, loving the feeling. But not too long after did I realize that it wasn't a pillow. I shifted a little and something tightened around me, a pair of arms held me. I looked up and saw that Shadow was laying right in front of me, holding me. I gasped, realizing that the fluffy thing was his chest, I never knew he had chest fur, I guess it's cause I've never seen him without a shirt until now. I heard him make purrs in his sleep, it was strange but I wasn't so comfortable considering that we weren't close enough friends to be doing something like this, hell, we weren't even a couple.

When I tried pulling away, his arms were like a magnet pulling me close to him again. I gave up already, too tired to even try to leave. I decided to just deal with it, it was a cold morning anyways so this wasn't the worst position to be in. His purring got louder like he was enjoying this somehow.

It was too early to leave bed anyways, I looked outside, seeing it was still kinda dark. So weirdly I went back to sleep in his arms again kinda wanting to leave already, I guess the benefit was that his fur was so soft and this morning was the warmest that I've had all winter. I remember being moody at the thought of waking up these cold mornings. It was a nice change to be warm again like this but it won't last forever. I sorta wish I could be warm like this every morning.

|Shadow's.POV|

I woke up later in the morning to the sounds of a little cute hedgehog purring next to me. Must be a happy dream in a deep sleep, I only wanted to hold him like this forever, he was so soft and cuddly. I lightly grabbed his hand and placed it over my heart "I love you..." I said in a soft voice. I didn't smile or make any expression. My eyes stared at him in adoration.

"hm..." he made little sounds in his sleep which I found adorable and his gorgeous face lit up to me. While he was sleeping I held one of his hands and stared at his cute little face. Sad he tries to hide it sometimes, I gave one of his cheeks a kiss, my ear twitched and rose up a little when I heard him purr again. I gave another kiss on his cheek and heard another purr. I stopped for a moment and stared at his lips. I've dreamed about this moment for years. When it would come to fruition was only a guess and I feel like I got dealt the right cards when I met him.

I leaned in and gave him a little kiss on his lips, as softly as one could be. Before I knew it, he was awake. I saw him open his eyes and I parted, acting like I did nothing. Luckily he didn't remember me kissing him and he sat up, rubbing his eyes.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to have a sleepover." he says while stretching his arms over his head.

"No don't worry about it." I said, sitting up again. I looked at him seeing a faint blush on his face.

"So how did you sleep?" I asked.

"Well, good I guess...although it was just a blur the whole time, we were up late." he said

I nodded and kept a loving stare at his eyes. When he noticed me, we looked at each other until he shyly looked away. I chuckled and saw him get off the bed, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. I smiled at him and watched him leave to the bathroom. The second he closed the bathroom door I jumped excitedly and looked down at the spot where my lover was sleeping. I can't believe he actually slept here right next to me in my own bed. I rolled around the bed embracing the scent he left behind. Before I knew it he was out of the bathroom and came back to the bedroom.

"Well Shadow I'll just show myself out, didn't mean to bother you." he was about to grab his boots.

I had to think fast, he just slept here with me and I couldn't just let him leave already, I looked around the room and finally out the window, there was a snow storm.

"Oh Sonic, you might want to look outside." I said. He looks outside and his eyes widen.

I gently held his arm, making him give an alarming face, so with a calm voice I sat him down.

"No way am I gonna let you go outside in weather like that, you can stay with me until the storm passes." I said.

He smiled and thanked me, laying on the bed again. I sat up and looked at him admiring his gorgeous eyes.
