Chapter 18 |Distorted Reality|

"His cold and bloody arms..."

|Sonic's.POV|

Like a carousel, I was spinning around. When you ride a carousel it's usually filled with lights and pretty colors. You could see people smiling and waving as they spun around and passed by, maybe even waving at you...a total stranger. It's fun and exciting to see everyone else smiling, isn't it? It sort of hypnotizes you when you see a huge group of people smiling...you can't help but smile yourself. You start to feel a little dizzy and the ride starts to become nauseating as it spins faster and faster. You feel like you're gonna fall and the pole that your hands hold gets harder to hold onto. You sit tight and hope that the ride will end soon. When it doesn't. It starts going faster than the usual speed and it becomes harder to hold onto. So you close your eyes tightly and imagine a better place in your head while the rides keep spinning over and over and over. You can feel yourself choke as the ride keeps spinning off. It hurts to breathe because whenever you inhale it will feel like a million little needles digging into your throat. The ride goes faster, you feel the sharp pain in your stomach that you're about to vomit. You realize that you haven't taken a breath for a long time and you start trying to but it feels like you're suffocating. You open your eyes and look around and see that nobody else is around and it's just you sitting all alone in that huge carousel. The people just randomly disappear and you don't know where they are. You realize that you're not smiling anymore since there is no one else smiling around you. You panic so much that your adrenaline is pumping and you can hear your heart beating in your head. When you look up in the sky it would be pitch black with no stars in sight. So you look away and find out that everything that I just told you wasn't even real.

|Sonic's.POV|

It felt so real, I thought I felt myself cuddling in Shadow's unconscious arms. But it was like I just blinked...and suddenly I wasn't on the ground with him anymore.

I looked at my hand, which felt numb. I turned my head to look at Shadow who was standing in front of me and didn't have his carved and stitched smile anymore.

It wasn't real...

It didn't happen...

......it was all an illusion.. Or a dream or something like that.

I was only seeing a mere image in my head... But it's hard to believe... When it felt so real. I got him. I pinned him down. I grabbed the knife and carved and ripped him apart. I remember doing all that... But according to the situation and looking at Shadow's perfect, clean, and untouched face. I couldn't tell what was real anymore.

|Shadow's.POV|

I was angry and upset with him, but after I smacked that knife out of his hand, he started freaking out. He had a late reaction to the knife being smacked out of his hands. At first, he had a blank face for a good 20 seconds and soon he was out of breath and scared. He was looking all over the room and his eyes grew wide from looking down at the floors and the ceiling. This was normal for him, almost a daily thing for him to do since he doesn't eat well.

I did my normal routine and pulled him close while covering his eyes. I don't know what he's seeing right now but it must've been intense since he blacked out right in front of me for longer than expected.

My main concern is Sonic's health. He's become this bloodthirsty cannibal that eats nothing else. It's damaging his body and It's my fault for not stopping him from his limit. I looked at him and his body was starving for actual food. It looked like his body was eating him from the inside out.
