Y/N had just uploaded her VidCon announcement video. She figured that it would be a given that she was going, but she still felt the need to upload the video just in case. And, while she was making the video, she decided to throw in a schedule change and a different announcment, too.

She was moving to L.A. soon so that she would be closer to her brother. Of course moving was a big deal, especially when she was moving all the way to the otherwise of the country, and it definitely would cause a minor, temporary change in schedule. Nothing big, but, instead of two or three videos a day, she would only upload one, maybe two for the next month or so while she traveled and got settled in to her new apartment.

Mark was estatic about it, but her roommate, Mason, didn't have the same opinion. But, being the friend she was, she was still supportive. Y/N was going to miss her.

She was going to be staying with Mark during VidCon, and then she would just stay there until she was able to move into the apartment she was going to be renting. Mark was more than happy to keep her while the current residents were moving out, of course, but she didn't want to stay too long just in case she started to bother him.

"The apartment has two bedroom, you know. You're more than welcome to come out and live with me again once I get in," Y/N said to Mason. Mason shook her head as she chopped up vegetables for stir fry and Y/N frowned. "Why not?" she asked. "It's not like you have family out here in New York, so you really have no reason to stay out here."

"I do, actually. I have my job, and no family. My sister and her boyfriend just moved to L.A. and that is not something I want to be near," Mason said. She shuddered and went back to chopping up the vegetables.

"Why not?" Y/N asked.

"They're always either fighting, or fucking and if she even so much as sees me on the street, she's going to ask for my number so that she can rant about how much she loves or hates him," Mason said, making a disgusted face as she started angrily chopping. Her chopping because faster and louder, due to her basically slamming the knife down on the cutting board.

"And why is that so bad?"

"Every two seconds I'll get a text about how much she loves her boyfriend, and then one about how he's such a dick about ten minutes later."

"Why do you hate your family?" Mason had been trying to distance herself from her family ever since she moved to New York where she met Y/N, but she never told Y/N why, despite saying that she was like a sister to her. You would've never guessed that she could hold such a grudge against someone.

The cutting suddenly stopped and Y/N figured she had upset her friend. She immedeitly backed up, telling her that she didn't have to answer the question.

"Thank you," Mason whispered. Mason didn't get upset easily, but when she did, it was bad.

She began chopping the vegetables again, this time at a more steady pace. After another minute or so, the scraping sound of a knife against the cutting board was heard, and the sizzling of vegetables soon followed.

Mason walked over to the chair on the opposite side of the table, across from Y/N. She sat down and slumped over, pulling out her phone as she waited for the stir fry to be done.

"They allow pets," Y/N said, hoping to get her best friend to maybe consider moving with her. She seemed to succeed, because her friend stopped scrolling through her phone and paused for a minute before returning, but her scrolling was slower as she thought.

"Maybe," she finally responded silently.

"Cat or dog?" Y/N asked.

"Kitten, obviously."

"Yes!" The two girls high fived. They both talked about getting a pet if the apartment landlord ever allowed it, but they never thought to specify what type of animal they would want.

They both sighed and leaned back in their seats. Mason went back to playing on her phone but sighed when the timer dinged, letting her know to mess with the stir fry.

A while had passed before the two were able to eat. Shovelling Mason's special stir fry into her mouth, Y/N set up her laptop so that she could brainstorm ideas for videos to set up for while she was at VidCon. She looked over and saw Mason doing the same.

"What you got?" Y/N asked Mason.

The girl glanced up from her laptop before rapidly typing away again, pausing every now and again to eat more.

"I'm thinking of doing another Mirror's Edge parkour video. Maybe a few videos of me travelling around to try different weird foods. I've also got a couple challenge videos for us, and just a couple random videos," Mason said. She only uploaded one video every other day, but she still likes to be on top of things for whenever she did post a video.

"Ooh, I love your Mirror's Edge videos," Y/N said. Mason looked scarily similar to Faith from Mirror's Edge, so she did a bunch of parkour videos dressed up as her. "What challenges do you have planned?"

"Bean Boozeled, Disney, Say Anything, and maybe even the Seven Second challenge."

Y/N nodded and sighed, looking at her list, which was barely filled up at all. This is going to be a long next few weeks.
