Chapter Ten

Everyone sat around in Shiro's house. VidCon was officially over, but everyone decided to stay in L.A. a bit to spend some time with each other.

"Shae was, like, super bummed that she couldn't come to meet her favorite YouTubers," Hunk said. Shae was his girlfriend from a town nicknamed 'The Balmera'. Shae was a geologist who had recently found tons and tons of crystals capable of producing mass amounts of electricity under The Balmera, which she named a Balmeran Crystal.

"Who are her favorite YouTubers again?" Pidge asked.

"And how is the research coming?" Keith asked.

"Well, she says that the research is going great and that she's gonna come back for a break in a couple days for, like, two weeks to a month. She might have to go back if something comes up," Hunk told them all.

"Also, Pidge, a few of her favorite YouTubers are Jacksepticeye, Markiplier, Pewdiepie, and C/N. There are a few more, but I can't remember them all at this very moment," Hunk said, answering Pidge's question.

"Speaking of C/N," Shiro started, looking to his adopted little brother. "What happened between you two after everything?"

"Well, I went out and we talked," Keith said. Technically, it was the truth.

"Oh, come on," Lance said, leaning forwards in the chair next to the couch that Shiro, Allura and Keith were sitting on.

"You can tell us, Keith, we won't judge you," Allura told him.

"Yeah, man. Your crush on her is, like, super obvious," Hunk pointed out. "You had to have asked her out."

"Actually, it wouldn't be so unbelievable. He probably wouldn't be able to work up the courage," Pidge mumbled, looking up at him menacingly, "because he's a pussy."

"Pidge," Shiro said, his tone a warning at the sixteen-year-old.

"You should have told me, I could have helped you out," Lance said. He turned and gave a flirty grin to nobody in particular, his perfect white teeth sparkling.

"I'm pretty sure you'd just scare her away." Lance pretty much deflated at Keith's comment before turning angry.

"Well, I'd have better chances at getting a date with her than you!" he shot back at Keith.

Keith scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Oh really? Because I already have a date with her."

He only realised what he said after everyone had heard it and he couldn't take it back. Everyone started congratulating him.

Allura brushed a stray stand of hair over her shoulder. "Where are you taking her?" she asked.

"We were just going to walk around town for a bit and talk. Maybe get something to eat or something," Keith said, shrugging.

"Really?" Lance asked. "Lame."

Keith glared at Lance, but Allura spoke up. "I think it's a wonderful idea, Keith," she said. "Most guys try to overdo it on the first date, and sometimes a girl just wants to go on a simple, relaxing date."

"I could take you out on a simple, relaxing date," Lance said, leaning towards Allura with a flirtatious grin, which Allura just rolled her eyes at.

"Anyways," Allura began, changing the subject. "Just remember one thing: never kiss her on the first date." Keith nodded to show his understanding.

It was silent for a few minutes before Shiro suggested that they play something.

Keith sat in his living room, debating what the date would be like as he watched YouTube on his TV. As he was scrolling through the recommended section, he saw a new video from Y/N. It had been uploaded not too long before, so he would be one of the first 100k people to watch the video.

"Goofs Go To Ikea + Apartment Tour," he said, reciting what he saw as the title. The thumbnail looked a bit rushed compared to her normal thumbnails, just being a picture of her and Mark in Ikea with the title on it instead of her normal cartoonish drawing for a thumbnail.

He went onto the video, seeing Y/N's face in front of the camera. She was standing in the middle of an empty room with the arm that wasn't holding up the camera in the air. She dropped her hand back down to her side and the video skipped to her and Mark in the car.

"Hey guys," she said. "So I'm here with Mark-" She moved the camera so that Mark was visible and he waved, distracted by driving. "-and we are on our way to Ikea to get me some furniture because, guess what, the people who were previously living in the apartment that I'm moving into have moved out and it's ready to be live in again! Yay!"

He shifted into a different position as he got ready to watch the whole twenty minute video.
