Chapter 6

Song: Hold On When You Get Love And Let Go When You Give It by Stars

Nathan's POV

"Hey," I say nervously as Kierra slides into her seat across the table.

"Hey," she whispers awkwardly.

I tentatively slide a plate in front of her that contains a bowl of granola some fruit, and some other random food.

"Thanks," She says smiling slightly. "Excited for today?"

"More nervous than excited," I state. 

Today I'm skating my short program.

"How was your practice yesterday?" Kierra questions.

"Okay," I say.

"Who you skating after?" Kierra asks.

"Yuzuru Hanyu," I reply.

"Be prepared for the Pooh Bear Rain," Kierra laughs. Last time I skated after Yuzuru Hanyu it took around 10 minutes to clear the ice of Pooh Bears.

I push my food around my plate nervously. 

"I'm sure you'll be fine," Kierra states.

What Kierra doesn't know is I'm not nervous about skating, I'm nervous about being around her. 

There's a commotion at the table next to us and I turn to see Adam and Alex staring at us.

"Really guys?" I ask.

"I'm your daddy I must watch your very first date," Adam says sweetly.

I stare at Alex asking him for help. Alex just shrugs, while Kierra and Adam giggle like 3-year-olds. 

"Just so you know I've already pre-approved your marriage," Adam states.

"What?" Kierra asks through a fit of giggles. "We're just eating breakfast together, we're not even dating."

"So you didn't invite your nice roommates I see," Alex states.

"Okay, you are not our roommate, and there's no way we're taking Daddy Adam, maybe Maia, but she didn't wake up, sooo...." Kierra's voice trails off.

"I'm gonna go," I say suddenly.

"But you haven't even finished your breakfast," Kierra states.

"I'm not hungry anymore," I say quickly as I take my plate over to the dish station and push in my chair. "See you guys later."

Kierra's POV

I sit on my bed, Vincent standing across from me.

Me and Vincent clicked instantly, we found something that no one else could give us. 

"So what's this I hear about a date with Nathan?" Vincent asks. 

"Argh, I don't know," I groan. "And for the record, it wasn't a date."

"So gonna fill me in?" Vincent asks staring expectantly at me. 

"I don't know, he was such a fucking dick when he left last time. How am I supposed to know whether or not he's just here to play me and screw up my performance up?" I vent. "Like, doesn't it all make sense? Nathan Chen the amazing Quad King sabotages rising Kierra Yu."

"You're officially going crazy," Vincent states rolling his eyes. "He's on Team USA as well, he obviously wants you to do your best so we win." 

"Well maybe if he wants me to do my best he should stay the fuck out of my life," I scream suddenly. "You have no clue how hurt last time he left and seeing him again, might just screw up my skating. He might just screw up my entire life."
