Chapter 25

Friday Night

I haven't talked to Kendall yet. I think each of us is just waiting for someone to apologize - and it ain't gonna be me who goes first.

He also made the mistake of thinking that I wasn't gonna go. So while he is downstairs making dinner, I'm getting ready for my date.

Ping! Ping!

He's literally throwing pebbles at my window. I laugh and open it. "You could've texted me you know." I say giggling. "Too easy." He chuckles. Adam holds the ladder while I go down. "Did you leave a note or something in case he calls the cops?" he asks as we walk to his car. "Yeah, he's gonna kill me when I get home. Oh well." I laugh.

It was the usual movie date. But way better since it was Spiderman 2. And the drive there was perfectly safe. He paid for everything - even though I brought money - and kissed me. Multiple times. On the drive home, any time I saw a cop my chest tightened in fear a little, hoping he wouldn't pull us over.

"Thanks for the date." I smile as he pulls up in front of my house. "No problem, I would walk you to the door, but Kendall is intensely staring out the window at us and I'm kind of scared.." he chuckles. "It's fine, I'll text you." I say. He kisses me and I go inside.

"So, how was the movie date?" Kendall was towering over me with his crossed arms. "Great..." I say, about to go up to my room. "I told you not to go. And you went anyway?!" he's not exactly mad or upset. More like a mixture. "Yeah. You didn't want me to go for a stupid reason. So I went anyway and I'm fine." I feel like all of this proving my point stuff is setting me up to be a lawyer later in life. "I didn't want you to go because I didn't need you to get hurt in a car accident because the driver didn't have his damn license! I do everything you want and the one time I tell you no you bitch out and do it anyway! That can't happen T. You're getting older and I'm done being the 'chill guardian that lets you do whatever'." He explains. I HATE it when he's right. I stayed quiet and sat on the couch. "It was for your safety. I know for a fact that if you got hurt, your mother would kill me and you would be out of my care very fast. And I know after all the yelling the other day, that may not seem bad, but it is." He says more calmly. What do I say? Okay? No. "I'm sorry about all the stuff I yelled at you." I say quietly. It took fucking TWO DAYS for that to come out. "It's alright Tessie, you know I hate yelling at you. Is the war between us over?" he chuckles. I playfully roll my eyes at him. "Yes." I smile.

"So how was the date?" he asks like a teen girl. "Fine." I'm not telling him how Adam kissed me and all that. I'll save it for Lily. "And the movie?" he asked. "Amazing! I'm also sorry I ditched you to go see it with Adam but - it was my first date since Jackson. Did you have fun with Mickey?" I do feel bad. "It's fine T. And she wanted to spend some time with Cait so it was just me tonight." He smiles. "Not anymore!" I laugh and hug his side. "No, now go get all the makeup off and get into your pajamas."
