Chapter 3 Kendall's POV
I woke up and saw I had a fewmissed calls from my mom. She wanted me to help her with some yard work. I got dressed and went over to her house.
"Hey Honey." Mom said as I opened the door. "Hey, what'd you need me to do?" I ask, walking in. "Oh forget it. I just wanted to talk to you in person." she chuckles. She always knows how to get us down here. We sit at the kitchen table and she makes some coffee. "You hear from Tessa recently?" mom asks. She wasn't too crazy about the idea of me taking care of a teenager in the first place - but she grew to like T. Who doesn't? Speaking of T she left that necklace with her dads wedding band at my house, I just found it yesterday. She didn't even notice it was gone. She would've said something. "Not since Sunday." it's now Friday. "Hmm..." my mom says, thinking. She was looking down at her phone.
"Paparazzi was hanging around James' house and got this 'Mystery Girl Going Into James Maslow's House - Is It Tessa Carter?'" my mother read out loud. "What?" I ask confused. "I mean, T and Halston are both blonde, they could've messed up." I try to make an excuse for this whole thing. "I'm going to call James." My mom excuses herself from the room and goes into the livingroom. I go and listen. "James tell me the truth, is Tessa Carter at your house?" she asks sternly. "Dammit James! Why would you keep that a secret from your best friend? You know how close he was with her.....I know she didn't tell him either but -" she got cut off. I guess he hung up on her. Ooh, that boy is gonna have hell to pay, you never hang up on my mom. I ran out to my car, quickly saying bye to my mom and drove to James' house.
I ran up to the door and knocked angrily. He answered. "Uh...Kendall...kinda busy...-" I cut him off. "I know T is here don't lie to me." I say. He steps back and lets me in. T turns and sees me, her eyes pop out of her head with shock. "Oh, did you not intend to see me here?" I ask, pissed. Well, more upset but acting out angrily. "I-" :Shut up. Kendall sit your ass down with the rest of us, Tessa, tell everyone your stupid plan." James says pissed. We all do as we're told. "What the hell is going on?" I ask. "Axel had an idea to try to get me back under your custody because technically Kara abuses me, and the plan was to not see you until we had everything straight and then it all just got jumbled up and -" "So what was th point of avoiding me?" I ask annoyed. "I just didn't want to have to say goodbye again." she said quietly and ran out of James' house.
Well fuck.
