Chapter 28
It’s Tuesday and Kendall is helping me get the stuff that I want from my moms house. “You have a lot of trophies…” he says, looking around my old room. “Yeah I guess.” I giggle grabbing some things. Kendall hasn’t helped much. He’s just been snooping around my room. He picks up a picture of me when I was about 4. “Awww baby Tessie!” he gushes. I roll my eyes at his ADD. “Kendall just help! I need you to take this box down to the car, it’s too heavy.” I push the box to him. “Alright, moody much?” he jokes and takes it down.
“Can I trust you to not go against me on Friday? I want you to stay safe.” Kendall says as we drive home. “Yes.” I say. I don’t really like lying, but I have to. He’s being ridiculous. “Thank you sweetie. You have no idea how relieved I feel that I can trust you.” He smiles, still looking at the road. I just sit quietly, mentally crossing my fingers behind my back.
Friday:
“Can I please go see a movie with Lily, Angie, Kaylee, and Izzy?” I beg Kendall. Angie has her mom picking us up and taking us to the football game. But once we get there Angie is going wither her boyfriend and I’m going with Adam.
“What movie?” Kendall crosses his arms and cocks his eyebrow at me.
“If I Stay, and stop doing that eyebrow thing! It’s annoying!” I giggle. “What? This?” he starts moving his eyebrows all weird and laughs.
“So can I go?” I ask one more time. He sighs deeply. “Fine. I’ll just call Mickey over.” He gives a small smile. “Thank you!” I hug his side and go upstairs to get ready.
An hour later and I finally have the right outfit. Light wash jean shorts, a thin t shirt, and some Vans. Simple. I go downstairs to wait for Angie.
“I really need to stop letting you get such short shorts.” Kendall mumbles. “I’m gonna be fifteen this summer, I can wear what I want. Speaking of being fifteen, you gonna teach me to drive?” I ask. “Duh! But not in my BMW, if you crash that I’m disowning you.” He chuckles. “Aw but I like that car.” I whine. “We’ll talk about it later, just go with your friends.” He giggles. “Okay, see ya.” I walk towards the door. “Remember, no Adam! And have fun, love ya!” he yelled from the kitchen. “Okay, love you too!” I walk out of the house and get into the car with Angie.
When we got to the football game we went our separate ways. “Alright, have fun, don’t get pregnant.” Angie laughed and walked off with her boyfriend, Nat. I turned and saw Adam. “Hey! Guess who snuck out?!” I wrap my arms around him. “You? My little rebel.” He kisses me and we continue to walk around.
I really don’t see why Kendall is so scared, he’s so gentle.
