I woke up when the beaming sunlight found its way to closed eyes. I slowly blinked until I was awake. It was quiet, informing me my brothers were still asleep. It was a Saturday, so Ponyboy wouldn't be going to school and he'd stay in bed until I forced him awake. Soda didn't have to be at the DX for another few hours and I believe Darrel has the day off. I always loved being the first one awake, this house never experienced much silence, it was comforting when those rare moments were caught.

I slipped on a large Rolling Stones t-shirt and some pajama shorts. I always slept in just a bra and underwear, never pajamas. Tulsa was too hot in the Summer for clothes. My Stones shirt slid down on my left shoulder, exposing it slightly. I was fairly petite so this was a regular occurrence. I decided to make breakfast considering most of the gang would be coming soon.

I searched the fridge and was relieved there was still cake. It always took me a long time to get the cake just the way the gang likes it, Darry was better at that than I was. I had finished making the eggs and was just starting the sausage and pancakes when Johnny walked in.

"Good morning Johnny Cake." I greeted kindly. I loved Johnny, he and I understood each other. We both enjoyed having fun, but we were both slightly different than the rest of the world.

"Mornin' Caffeine." He sat down and waited for his breakfast quietly. Johnny usually didn't speak until spoken to, yet I knew locked away deep in his mind were beautiful thoughts that would never be heard. What a shame.

"Here you go." I handed him his breakfast and he smiled at me, that's when I noticed the bruise on his cheek. "Johnny.." I said quietly.

"It ain't no big deal Caffeine. My old man got upset last night. I slept in the lot, it's alright." He tried to convince me, but I was a stubborn creature.

"Johnny why didn't you stay here? You know I'd rather have you here than out in the lot." I turned my attention back to the pancakes and took a long sip of my coffee. "I don't want you to get jumped or something." He looked down and didn't respond. And then Darry walked in.

"Morning Kathleen." Darry said gently kissing my cheek and grabbing a cup of coffee.

"You want some breakfast?"

"I'll have some eggs, yes." He said grinning at me.

I hands him his plate and turned back to the food once again. I had finished and right when I did Sodapop walked in.

He bumped into me and grabbed a pancake.

"Morning guys." He said shoving it into his mouth.

"Move." I commanded and shoved him back.

"No." He laughed and pushed me again.

"Soda stop!" I whined and he grabbed the whole plate of pancakes and walked away. "Soda!"

"Sodapop cut it out." Darry ordered and Soda listened.

"How come you always listen to him and not me? You're my kid brother too." I sassed. Soda always picked on me and messed with me. We butt heads a lot but I loved him more than life, let's face it, Sodapop was life.

"Probably cause your about 5'1 and less intimidating than a puppy." He replying to my sass ten fold.

"5'2" I mumbled while taking the breakfast from him. Dallas was next to walk in. He walked over and grabbed a plate of pancakes ignoring the eggs and sausage.

"Morning sexy." He said in his flirtatious voice. Dally and I always jokingly flirted with each other, something my brothers really didn't enjoy. Especially Darrel. Darry loved Dal but he'd never want his kid sister to date him.

"Good morning hottie." I winked and he smirked at me and sat on the couch. Darry shot a quick glare at Dallas and then me. I shrugged my shoulders and laughed.

"Soda you better get going little buddy." Darry informed him.

"Here," I grabbed a plate of breakfast and laid foil over the top. "Take this to Steve." I ordered.

"Thanks." He kissed me on the cheek and then was off with the food in his hand.

"Ponyboy still out?" Johnny asked me quietly.

"Yeah, I'm about to go wake him up. Y'all got plans?" I questioned. Those two were inseparable. I adored their friendship.

"Yeah we're gonna go to the movie house." He said quietly. I nodded my head and then headed down the hall to wake up Ponyboy.

I walked in and saw him out cold. Although I was a good three years older than Pony, he was already a lot bigger than me. He was about 5'8 and pretty strong too. I giggled at my not so little brother and jumped on top of him.

"Mmmmm Caffeine Get off." He order and tried to shove me to the side but I dodged his arms.

"Wake upppp! Johnny's waiting on you." I kissed his forehead and he whipped it off and I laughed.

"Stopppp." He said in his low morning voice.

"Noooo." I imitated his time and he opened his eyes in a glare. I laughed loudly and jumped off of him. "Seriously, get up. Breakfast is ready." I saw him grab a pillow and I shut the door right before it hit where I was standing.

"My brothers love me." I said quietly to myself and rolled my eyes.
