"What If he's angry?" Dani asked nervously as we walked though my gate and approached my house.
"Dani, I promise you he won't be." She sighed and we walked through the doors. All eyes were on us, the entire gang was there. Opal and I exchanged quick nervous glances when they all stood in shock at the sight of Dani. Ponyboy stood up and just stared at her.
She looked down in defeat, assuming he was upset. "Ponyboy I understand if you never want to see me again.." He just stood in front of her not saying anything. I could see a tear forming in her eye as she turned toward the door in attempt to run. Ponyboy grabbed her arm and pulled her into a kiss leaving us all speechless.
My eyes widened and my mouth dropped. I looked at Darry and Soda and they had similar reactions. Ponyboy never showed any affection for girls around us. This was a completely different and confident side of Ponyboy. Finally he pulled away and just looked at her.
"I was never angry with you. I know why you left. But that doesn't mean it didn't hurt. Losing you was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. But I was never mad at you. Hell Dani, I love you." Ponyboy acted as if the gang and Opal weren't even here. His attention was strictly on Dani and hers on him.
"I love you too." She said as a tear fell and smile formed.
"Holy shit." I said finally breaking the silence of us all. With that everyone laughed. Even Ponyboy and Dani.
"Why do my friends keep falling in love with my brothers?" I asked rhetorically getting a few chuckles here and there.
"Why are your brothers so hot?" Opal answered while sitting in Sodapops lap. I grimaced and rolled my eyes.
"Don't act like you aren't marrying our best friend. We had to watch you two kiss for ever it's our turn." Sodapop answered while pointing at Ponyboy and winking.
"Y'all are younger than me. It's weird." I said as a matter of fact.
"How do you think I feel?" Darry stepped in. "My little sister is getting married and my two kid brothers are in love and I haven't gone i a date since 1962." We all laughed loudly at Darry's point. He was right after all.
"I still can't believe I'm getting married." I said out of the blue.
"I still can't believe you're getting married." Sodapop replied.
"I can't believe you're marrying me." Dally joined. I cocked my head and grinned at him and he smirked back.
"No man, I believe Caffeine is gettin' married. I can't believe Dally is getting married. Never thought I'd see the day." Steve added and we all chuckled in agreement.
"Y'all think in ten years we'll still be here, and be us?" I asked slightly dropping the mood to a more serious manner.
"I'll be with you, that's all that matters." Dallas stood up and slug an arm around me and pulled me in and kissed me temple.
"Y'all will have little Dally's running around by then." Two-bit cracked out.
"Dear God, don't say that." Dally laughed. His remark frightened me.
"Why? You don't want kids?" I asked scared to hear the answer.
"Of course I do baby I just hope they're nothing like me. If I'm lucky they'll look and act just like their mother." He replied taking a huge weight off my shoulder. I pulled his shirt down and kissed him hard.
"I'm so madly in love with you that it isn't even funny."
He smirked at my response. "I'm pretty fond of you too."
I was about to get married. Dani was back. Everything was slowly starting to fall together. And I was thankful for my dysfunctional gang. My dysfunctional family.
