Dally and I didn't have a honey moon. We couldn't afford one. Instead we used the money to buy a small house. One directly next to my old one. It was the craziest thing, it went for sale two days after the wedding. We had to talk them down a little with the price. They were kind and understanding however and Darry helped pay a little. Dally worked with Darry, but we still didn't have enough money. I got a job at the diner I always went to when I wanted coffee. They knew me very well and were happy to have me join.

"I'm Kathleen Winston I'll be your server today how may I help you?" I asked the older man that sat in the booth. He glanced at me quickly and took me off guard slightly.

"What did you just say your name was?" He asked intently. I hesitated a little but decided to answer.

"Kathleen Winston." I answered as if there was nothing wrong, but I was still suspicious of his behavior.

He hesitated and then shook his head. "Thought you were somebody else." He mumbled. I wasn't convinced however.

"Can I get you something." I asked with a little bit more attitude than I intended.

"Black coffee and scrambled eggs." He commanded. I nodded and took his menu. I walked back to the counter and told them his order.

I served my other tables while I was waiting on his food. He looked familiar. His familiarity wanted me to trust him, but his vibe seemed dangerous.

"Eggs And Black coffee." That was his. I reached over and grabbed it. "This goes to David Winston, Kathleen." The other employee said handing me the food.

"What?" I asked confused.

"That's the mans name you're serving. David Winston." I turned toward him. I held his food out in front of me and gasped when I noticed why he appeared so familiar. I dropped his food causing the room to go silent. He looked up and smiled.

He was Dally's father.
