After a few weeks Dani was doing exceptionally well. Her and Ponyboy were inseparable. She hadn't drank or done anything reckless, which was great but in a way scared me. I was afraid if she changed, she's be upset with her life.

"Dani, you want to go out tonight?" I asked while taking a sip of my freshly made coffee.

"Oh I would man, but Pony and I are going to the movie house." I furrowed my eyebrows at her response.

"You two are spending an awful lot of time together." I said suspiciously. I raised my eye brows at her and she blushed slightly.

"I can't explain it Caffeine. I'm different with him. He makes me want to be better." I smiled at her.

She reminded me of Dallas in this moment, and that's when I realized it. That Dani and Dallas had something in common, cold heart that weren't quite as cold as they once were.

"Has he kissed you?" I asked slightly uncomfortable. This was my kid brother we were talking about.

"Not yet, it's so strange. I've slept around since I was like 13. But with Ponyboy, eye contact gives me a rush." I laughed at her blunt honesty. She was learning the difference between like and lust.

With our conversation coming close to an end, Dally walked in. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed my head.

"You know what today is?" He asked smirking.

"No? What?" I tried to think. It wasn't anyone's birthday or holiday. I was confused at what day he could be referring to.

He chuckled at my ignorance. "Happy one month." He said kissing me.

"Oh my gosh! Already?" I laughed. Time was flying.

"Yeah so go put something on and we'll celebrate." Dani and I ran to my room, excited to get me ready leaving Dallas laughing.

I picked out a maroon dress and slid my leather jacket on with it. The weather was starting to slowly change to fall, so the air had a slight breeze. I braided my hair and still refused to wear any makeup. I never wore makeup. I didn't like the thought of covering myself up. I was who I was, no excuses.

"You look hot." Dani said smirking at me. "Can I ask you something?" She said getting real.

"Of course." I turned to her, afraid there was something wrong.

"Are you in love with Dallas?" She asked not smiling nor grinning. Just a face desperate for answer though I wasn't sure why.

"I don't know.." I answered honestly. I wasn't sure how I felt about Dally at this point. I was crazy about him, but love? I'm not even sure if I believe in it.

She nodded and the hugged me. "Go get him tiger." She said seductively making me laugh.

When I walked out Dally's mouth parted slightly and then formed into a grin. His eyes lit up like a little kid on Christmas morning. He closed his eyes and shook his head.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"I just can't believe I've got you." He answered making my stomach flip.

I grabbed his arm and started walking out the door. "Where are we going?" I asked impatiently.

"You'll see baby. You'll see." I rolled my eyes at his mysterious answer.

We arrived at a small park and there was nobody around. He had borrowed Buck's pickup truck. He got out and opened the door for me. I laughed at his attempt to be romantic. When I got out he lead me to the bed of the pickup truck where there were blankets and pillows stacked forming a large pallet.

"What's this?" I asked laughing at all of the blankets.

"You said you like the stars, so I figured we'd watch the sun set and then look at the stars. You're always going on about how much you love the sky." He rambled on and I just thought how lucky I was. How lucky I was to be here with him.

We laid together in silence for a little while, staring at the colors of the sky. The red and blue and orange and pink all melting together to form a chaotic masterpiece.

"I'm in love with you Kathleen Curtis." Dally broke the silence. I propped myself up on my elbow and looked at him. His dark eyes that one seemed to cold now appeared warm and tender.

"I love you too Dally." I kissed my boyfriend passionately. He started kissing me back and deepened the kiss. He rolled over on top of me and the kiss continued to intensify. I started taking of his shirt, my jacket and dress followed.

"Are you sure?" He asked breaking away.

"I want this with you. I love you Dally." I promised him and he grinned at me.

After that everything began to happen all at once. I was in love, something I thought was only a myth, had come to life.
