I sipped my hot coffee slowly. It had a couple shots of vanilla mixed within the hot substance to add flavor. I didn't mind black coffee though. Today I was feeling a slight bit sweeter however.

"I can't drink that stuff. Tried to, cause you ramble on about it all the time. But I'll stick to my milkshake." She took a long swig if her chocolate milkshake with wide, sarcastic eyes that made me laugh.

"The effect is better than the taste, it hypes me up and makes me feel invincible if I drink enough. I like feeling like I'm on top of the world." I said mimicking her sarcastic eyes. She smirked at me and rolled her eyes.

"Let's do something crazy." She said and I grinned widely at her. I laid money down on the table and we were out the door.

"What do you have in mind, Hendrix?" She smirked at me as an answer and I knew we were in for a treat.

"Bucks." She laughed. She had a thing for Buck, even though he was 20 and she was only 16. They had never slept together but they spent an awful lot of time together. Opal hadn't ever been with a guy before, unlike Dani who had been with many guys.

We arrived at Bucks and sat at the bar. "Hey you." She grinned flirtatiously at him.

"If it isn't the one and only Opal Hendrix. How are ya doll?" He smirked at her leaned closely.

"I'm all right. But if you get a few drinks in me I might be better." Her eyes held adventure and lust in a dangerous combination. I sat chuckling to myself as they talked back and forth. Buck brought her a few shots, and brought me a cup of coffee. I laughed at how well he knew us.

"What are you doin' here?" I jumped at Dallas sneaking up behind me.

"Geez Dal. We're just having drinks." I took a drink of my coffee and turned my attention to the people dancing.

"Awfully early for a party don't ya think?" I asked Buck but he didn't answer. It was only 6:00 pm. Usually his parties didn't start till 10:00. He was too involved in the conversation he was having with Opal.

"I don't think Darrel would want you here, kid." Dal said sitting in the seat beside me.

"Kid?" I repeated. "What do you mean kid! I'm not a child Dallas Winston." I hated when people treated me like a child. I was nothing of the sort.

I was just angry and rebellious enough to prove how little of a kid I really was. I saw a guy earlier making eyes at me on the dance floor. I grabbed one of Opals shots and swallowed it quickly. I looked at Dallas after downing the drink and smiled dangerously.

"I'll show you how much of a 'kid' I am." I walked out to the dance floor to the guy.

"Hey baby." He said drunkenly. He was attractive but I could tell he was a total jerk. His black hair was greased back and he had on a white t-shirt and old ripped jeans.

"Don't call me baby. Just dance." I commanded and he listened.

He grabbed my waist and and pulled himself close to me. Our bodies rubbed together and swayed recklessly to the beat of the music. His lips found their way to my neck and I glanced at Dallas with evil in my eyes. Kid? I thought. I'm not a kid. He just looked at me with a angry expression. For some reason I enjoyed the fact that this angered him. I wanted Dallas to be jealous or angry, and it appeared to be working. I got high off the though of Dallas being jealous. I wanted more.

I grabbed the drunk boys face and started kissing him. The kiss began to get heated quickly. He ran his hands up and down my body and when I tried to glance at Dallas he was gone. I pushed the guy off me and grabbed another shot off the bar. After that one I took another, and another. I wanted to get drunk.

I looked back at the dance floor and Dallas was dancing with some girl. I rolled my eyes. I grabbed another shot and felt it burn down my throat. I could feel myself getting drunk.

It was nearly 11:00 by the time Opal was a hot mess on the dance floor with Buck. Dallas was sitting at the bar as far away from me as possible. I didn't want him to hate me. Dally was protective over me, like the whole gang and I took advantage of that. I enjoyed making them mad sometimes. It was a reminder that someone cared.

I walked over to him. "Wanna Dance?" I asked with a sympathetic tone and a slight slur considering I was still wasted. Just not as much as Opal.

"With you, no." His voice was venomous. And angry.

"Dal." I said and he looked away. He wasn't drunk. In fact, I hadn't seen him take a drink yet. "What's wrong with you?" I asked once I noticed this. Dallas was always drunk. "Why aren't you drinking?"

"Someone has to keep an eye on you." He mumbled angrily.

I grabbed his hand and looked at me coldly. "Dallas dance with me." I commanded and his eyes softened when he saw how sorry I was. He stood up and right when he did a slow song came on. Dallas and I always danced at parties. It was our thing.

"You look pretty." He said twirling me around. I laughed, I'm not sure why. I think it was the alcohol laughing, not me.

"Oh is that right?" I laughed again holding Dallas close to me.

"Yes." He replied without a smile. He just looked at me. I stopped laughing when I felt the atmosphere between Dallas and I change. We kept swaying but something else changed as well. All of the sudden I noticed how attractive Dallas was. Butterflies arose in my stomach. As his eyes stayed on mine.

"I need some air." I walked outside and my brain started to calm down. I felt out of control. I was breathing hard and felt more sober now than I had in the last couple of hours.

I heard Dallas walk out behind me. The door to Bucks closed behind us, leaving just us and the cool Tulsa breeze.

"What the hell are you doing huh?" I yelled at him. He didn't answer. Just stared at me. "Well!?" I yelled louder this time. "You can't do that! All right our little flirting friendship doesn't work that way!" I was furious and he never seemed more calm.

He stepped closer to me. I felt like I was on fire. My adrenaline was pumping and I couldn't catch my breath. "Dallas what are you doing?" I whispered confused.

"I don't know." He answered honestly. "I don't know man." I ran his hands through his hair and then looked at me again. I felt something between us. Something that was never there before. "I know that you're beautiful." My mouth parted slightly in shock at his blunt comment.

I swallowed as he took another step towards me. How did I never notice his attractiveness before? The way his hair fell and the sharp features of his face. His muscular build and dangerous eyes.

He took another step and we were only inches away. His eyes glanced at my lips and then back to my eyes.

"Walk me home." I insisted. He nodded slightly and then I turned away and began walking home.
