"How far along?" He asked with joy locked in his eyes.

"Two weeks. I just found out today. Dallas doesn't know." I informed him. "You have to try and fix things with him."

"I can't do that."

"Why not?"

"Dallas doesn't want me in his life. He most definitely won't want him in his child's life."

I looked down at my white sneakers and back up. "There's a hotel half a mile that way." I pointed and his eyes followed my hand. "Stay there for the night. They're very cheap. I'll talk to him."

He starred at me with confusion and hope in his eyes. He looked down and I turned to walk away.

"Why are you doing this for me?" He asked with my back turned to him. I looked up and saw Dally in the window.

"Because I love your son more than you'll ever know. And I love this baby." I turned back so we were facing each other once again. "And I will always do what I think is best for him." He was silent but thankful.

"You're a remarkable young woman." He finally replied and I stood confidentially and grinned slightly.

"And you have a remarkable son." This made him smile. He and Dally had the same smile.

I turned back to go inside and he turned toward his car. Once I entered, Dallas was right on me.

"What did he say to you?" He asked determined. He still seemed anxious and angry. I hated seeing him like this.

"Dallas calm down." I commanded while hugging him. He didn't hug back at first, but once he did he held me as tightly as he could. He buried his head in my neck and then kissed me lightly.

"He said he was sorry and Dallas, he meant it. I think we should have dinner together before he leaves town and you should try to forgive him." Dallas's eyes changed from calm to chaos quickly and he let go of me.

He didn't say anything. Just stormed out. I looked at the clock and was thankful my shift was over so I could leave. I took off my apron and ran after him.

"Dally!" I yelled at him but he just kept walking. I ran again and finally caught him and grabbed his arm.

I pulled him down and kissed him but to my surprise he pushed me away. I stumbled slightly and then tripped and fell hard. Once he saw what he had done he stuck out his hand to help me up, but out of instinct I flinched as if he was going to hit me.

He pulled back at this and sadness took over his cold eyes. "Are you afraid of me?" He asked softly.

"No Dally. I'm sorry." I got up and stepped toward him.

"You're sorry? I hurt you.. I-I pushed you down." He looked like he was about to cry. Shame crept out of his eyes and spread across his entire face.

"You didn't mean to." I protested. I grabbed his arm and he just looked at me.

"I'm so sorry." He pulled him into his chest and hugged me as tightly as possible. "I'm so sorry Kathleen." He repeated.

"Dallas I said it's alright."

"It ain't alright man!" He pulled away and ran his hands through his hair. "It ain't alright at all! How can I hate this man so much that I become him?"

"You are not him. You are you." My eyes started to water lightly. "You are the man I love and trust." I softly grabbed his face and forced him to look me in the eye. "I love you."

"Why does he deserve a second chance?" He spoke softly and with the smallest ounce of fear in his voice.

"Because I've seen broken people find their way home. I fell in love with one. And so did my little brother. You and Dani were lost and now look at you. He's the same way Dallas Tucker. He deserves one as well." He looked down like he was contemplating something. He look back up and shook his head and sighed.

"You're too good."

"And you're too good to me." I kissed him and he kissed me back softly.
