It had only been two days since team seven returned from their previous mission in the land of waves and Kakashi was already sending them back to work. Of course it was only D rank missions. Himika sighed as she continued plucking weeds from their clients garden, she glanced over at Naruto only to see that he was picking everything, not just the weeds.
'Baka....'
Himika sighed again as she thought of the trouble he'd get in, meanwhile their lazy sensei was reading his book under the shade of a tree. Himika looked over at Kakashi for a moment, wondering what he was constantly reading, not to mention he giggle's like a schoolgirl at some parts.
"Hehehee...." Kakashi giggled.
'There he goes again....' Himika thought to herself as she went back to plucking weeds out of the soil.
Once everyone finished Naruto stood triumphantly next to a pile of weeds and herbs.
"I got the biggest pile!" Naruto cheered.
"YOU PICKED MY HERBS!!!!" The woman yelled, kicking Naruto into the air.
'Wow he's flying......' Himika thought with a blank face as she watched him 'fly'.
Moving onto the next job, everyone was picking trash out of a river while Kakashi continued to read his book under a tree. Everyone thought Naruto could handle picking trash out of a river, but he proved them wrong by losing his footing and falling down the waterfall. Sasuke and Himika sped after him to catch him. Sasuke jumped off the tree branch and Himika used two of her tentacles to grab Sasuke's ankles and the other two to grip onto the branch sticking out the side of the cliff.
"Baka." Sasuke sighed.
Himika used her tentacle's and pulled the three of them back up, Sasuke sent her a nod instead of saying thanks. Himika nodded back and the team went to finish their job.
The last job of the day was walking dogs. Himika took a bigger dog because of her strength, Naruto took the biggest dog in order to beat Sasuke. Sakura and Sasuke both had smaller dogs, again Kakashi was reading, but this time he was sitting in a tree. Naruto's dog was walking him instead, and he ended up getting dragged into a minefield. The dog came out unscathed but Naruto was covered in burns.
"That's what you get for picking the biggest one!" Sasuke sighed, annoyed by his stupidity.
"I could've taken him Naruto." Himika said.
Naruto just complained about the dog. Once their last mission for the day was over Kakashi dismissed them. Himika left to go find Shikamaru, deciding that she didn't want to deal with her teams bickering. She found him cloud gazing on their favorite hill.
"Hey Shikamaru." Himika greeted as she laid down next to the lazy Nara.
"Hey Himika, how come I haven't heard from you in days?" Shikamaru asked, trying to hide how he missed her.
"My team ended up going on a mission outside of the village and we got back two days ago." Himika answered as she looked at the clouds.
"Well at least you made it back in one piece." Shikamaru sighed.
It was ironic because if she wasn't whatever she was she would have been in two pieces. The two layed on the hill in silence while watching the clouds float by. One of the main reasons Shikamaru was her best friend was because he wasn't loud and obnoxious and he was easy to hang out with. It stayed peaceful until she could pick up on the distressed yells of her teammates from a mile or so away.
"Gomen Shikamaru, I think I should get going." Himika said as she dusted off her pants and stood up.
"Alright, see you around." Shikamaru replied.
Himika ran to where she could smell her teammates and stood in front of her team.
"Explanation, now." She demanded in the coldest voice she could muster.
"They have Konohamaru!" Naruto exclaimed, pointing at the guy behind her.
She glared at the boy wearing face paint and a black one piece suit that made him look like a cat. She saw the boy in his grasp and assumed it was Konohamaru.
"Put him down." Himika ordered.
"This brat started it, he ran into me." The face paint guy said.
"If you don't put him down, it will be my fist running into your face." Himika said as she cracked her knuckles.
He gulped, but still refused to put him down.
"Fine." Himika sighed.
There was a flash of red, white and black before Konohamaru was beside Naruto, looking just as surprised as everyone else.
"Now that our conflict has been solved, could the people hiding in the tree please come out. I don't like being watched, especially by a guy who reeks of blood and sand." Himika said as she glared at the tree.
Sasuke jumped down first and landed beside Himika. A swirl of sand was seen before a red headed boy stood beside the guy with face paint.
"G-Gaara!" He stuttered out in surprise, or maybe fear.
"Remember why we're here, or I'll kill you." Gaara said coldly.
"They started it!" He countered.
Himika was going to walk away until some sand grabbed her arm and stopped her.
"I want to know your name." The red head ordered.
"Himika. And you?" Himika replied.
"Gaara of the Desert." He answered.
"I would say nice meeting you, but under the circumstances it wasn't nice." Himika said, glaring at the boy with face paint. "I'll be taking my leave now." Himika said doing a lazy wave and walking off.
Everyone watched the white haired girl walk away, some in slight fear and others in awe. Sakura asked them why they were in the village and they explained that they were here for the chuunin exams. Naruto had to listen to Sakura's lecture because he didn't know what it was. Eventually Sasuke asked for Gaara's name and Gaara asked for his. It was easy to tell that a rivalry was brewing between them, but Sasuke didn't like anyone being stronger than him, teammates included. Konohamaru and his friends looked at Naruto.
"Who was that white haired girl from earlier?" Moegi, the orange haired girl asked.
"That was my team mate, Himika." Naruto answered.
"She must be strong!" Udon said.
"She is strong! Believe it!" Naruto cheered.
"Wow you're such a loser big brother Naruto." Konohamaru sighed.
"Hey!" Naruto yelled.
The four of them bickered back and forth. Meanwhile, Himika was walking home and thinking about the three Sunagakure ninja she met. So far she really didn't like Gaara, he gave off bad vibes and smelled like blood and sand, a very disturbing combination.
'If I get the chance to, I'll beat you.....' Himika thought, determined before getting ready for bed and going to sleep.
