Switching Sides

A/N

Just warning you all, but this chapter focuses less on the ACTUAL Naruto plot and more on Himika's betrayal/ escape from Konohagakure. 

Kaneki stood next to Himika in the dark stairway, looking over at her as she slowly exhaled.

"Are you nervous?" Kaneki asked.

"A little bit." Himika admitted.

"Now that the match with Sasuke and Gaara has begun, the plan Orochimaru made is starting." Kaneki said.

"When do we leave with Orochimaru?" Himika asked.

"Once he or Kabuto says to retreat. I suggest you prepare to leave. Mentally and physically." Kaneki replied before using a teleportation jutsu.

"Hai..." She muttered, pushing herself off the wall.

She stayed in the dark hallway until she heard almost complete silence, only hearing a few people running around.

'This must mean that the genjutsu is working.' Himika thought, starting to run back out into the sunlight.

Himika dashed out of the dark staircase, towards the seats of the arena where Konoha ninja were fighting off Oto ninja. She quickly ran towards Kaneki, who was busy fighting off Konoha ninja.

"Need help?" Himika asked kicking away another ninja.

"I'm fine, I just don't want to kill them. If you want to help us then go see how Kabuto's doing." Kaneki replied, punching someone in the nose.

"Alright." Himika replied, running away to go find Kabuto.

She found Kabuto fighting Kakashi and Gai, running up to Kabuto, she kicked away Gai and went back to back with Kabuto.

"How nice of you to join us Himika." Kabuto said with a satisfying smirk.

Kakashi narrowed his eyes at Kabuto, he glanced at Himika when she didn't respond.

"Why are you fighting with the enemy?" Kakashi asked.

Kabuto laughed as Himika looked away with a scowl.

"Isn't it obvious? She's with us." Kabuto answered.

Himika stayed silent, Kakashi boiled with rage as he fought his student and Kabuto.

"Himika, prepare to leave. I'll be fine here on my own." Kabuto ordered.

"Hai." Himika replied.

Himika quickly made hand signs and did her earth vanishing jutsu, shooting underground towards her home like a rocket. She didn't bother to appear outside of her home, instead she appeared inside her room and didn't care that she broke the wooden floor. She snatched a bag she had already packed off the floor and slung it onto her back. She fished around in her closet before pulling out a long black cloak. She took off her eyepatch and placed it down on her bed, deciding she really wouldn't need it. She quickly flipped up her hood and jumped out of her window, running along the rooftops towards the arena with her now completely clear vision.

She ran back to the arena just in time to see Naruto and Shikamaru preparing for a mission with Neji, Choji, Kiba and Akamaru. Keeping her hood up, she ran past them. They glanced at her before turning to Kakashi for instructions.

"Help Sasuke defeat Gaara. And one last thing," He started. "If you see Himika, assume she's an enemy."

"What?! Why?!" They all yelled.

"I'll have to explain later, now go." Kakashi ordered.

"Hai!" They chorused before running into the forest after Sasuke and Gaara.
