The next day was very similar to the day before, Kaneki left their inn room early to go do some research and left Himika in the room to do as she pleased. Himika decided to go out and do more explortation because she didn't explore all of town yesterday.
About ten minutes after Kaneki left, Himika brushed her hair and put it into a pont tail, tying her black ribbon around it before grabbing the spare key and heading out into the streets. The streets only seemed to get busier every day, more and more people came every day and the inns were slowly filling up. Many carriges pulled by horses and carts pulled by ox could be seen traveling through the streets or parked along the sides of the streets. Vendors sold their products from their shops, some advertising by having people yell out their prices.
Himika walked past all of the commotion and began walking north, towards the northern part of the city that she has yet to explore. A few friendly people waved and smiled, saying a quick 'good morning' while bowing their heads slightly and walking by. Himika would return their greeting and wave, but mostly ignored them as she walked further to the north. She walked a little further before a tall man stepped in front of her.
"You're almost at the end of town Miss, the only thing past here is a small bookstore, but no one really goes there." The man said.
"Ah, I see. Arigato." Himika replied.
The man smiled a toothy grin before giving her a mock salute and walking off.
'The people here are all so cheery, I don't know if that's good or annoying...' Himika wondered with a sigh.
Himika walked further and before long a small bookstore came into view. The building was made of wood and had a small sign hanging from the overhang that had the name of the bookstore written in black paint.
'Yamamoto Bookstore.' Himika read off the sign, assuming the name was a familys last name.
She was about to push open the door before she heard voices in the distance coming towards her, familiar voices.
"Aww man! I'm totally broke now! Next time I see that guy I'm going to give him a piece of my mind!" A voice yelled.
Two other voices from beside him sighed before a higher pitched spoke first.
"Naruto you're such an idiot." The higher voice said, clearly a female.
"Baka." A low voice scolded.
Himika stayed frozen for a while, wondering if her ears had betrayed her. She stood by the building and waited for them to come into view. She glanced at the road to watch for them and her eyes went wide when she saw the three of them. The female was dressed in red and had pink hair and green eyes, one boy had black hair that looked like a ducks rear and was dressed like an emo, and the last boy had blonde hair, blue eyes and was dressed in an orange and blue jumpsuit.
Himika was so surprised that she almost forgot that she should probably hide. Hopefully before they saw her, she dashed into the bookstore and hid behind a tall shelf so they couldn't see her through the window.
"Did you guys see that?" Sasuke asked, peering through the shop window.
"See what Sasuke?" Sakura asked.
"Maybe he's just stupid." Naruto teased.
"Shut up baka, it's nothing." Sasuke replied before continuing to walk forward at a quick pace.
The other two followed behind him and it wasn't long before Sasuke and Naruto were bickering, leaving Sakura to hang her head and sigh. Himika stayed hidden behind the book shelf until their voices had faded away, meaning that they were quite far away now. Himika slowly closed her eyes let out a sigh of relief, but once she opened them she jumped a little.
"Hello again." An old woman greeted.
Himika studied her face before realising it was the old woman she met in the street yesterday. After Himika regained her composure she stood up.
"Hello, nice to see you again Miss." Himika replied, her mind begining to think of questions.
'Why is my team here? And how the hell did I not sense that old womans chakra?' Himika thought.
"By the look on your face, I'd say you have a question." The old woman said.
Himika simply nodded a quick yes and waited for the woman to go on.
"First of all, I'm Mrs. Yamamoto, and welcome to my bookstore." The old woman started. "Now then, what would you like to ask?"
"How did I not sense your chakra?" Himika asked, quite curious.
Mrs. Yamamoto chuckled a little before giving an answer. "Back when I was much younger, I was a ninja, a quite skilled one too. I've always been good at hiding my presense, wheather it be my chakra or even my scent."
"That makes sense. Could you answer another question for me?" Himika asked, getting curious about the books she has here.
"Of course dear, but only after I know your name." Mrs. Yamamoto replied, smiling gently.
Himika hesitated to give out her name, but obliged. "Himika."
"Oh! What a pretty name!" She gushed. "Now go ahead and ask your question."
"Do you sell any books about legendary weapons?" Himika asked.
"I do have one book that may be useful." She replied, walking over to a dusty shelf and picking up a book.
Mrs. Yamamoto blew the dust off the cover and coughed as she batted away the dust. She handed the book to Himika and smiled gingerly as Himika accepted the book and inspected the cover.
"That is a book on weapons of legendary status, some are actually found and weilded by ninja, and others are only rumored to exist. I think this book will pique your intrest." She explained, watching as Himika opened the book to the first page.
Himika skimmed through the table of contents and noticed that the book was very descriptive and had a long list of weapons inside.
"This book is perfect, how much for it?" Himika asked, reaching into her pocket to grab some money that Kaneki left her.
"No, no! You may take that book for free, but I hope to see you around here again." Mrs. Yamamoto insisted.
"If that's what you want, arigato." Himika replied, putting the money away and holding the book to her chest.
Mrs. Yamamoto said goodbye to Himika and Himika made her way back to the inn so she could begin searching for information on the Sword of the Thunder God, which was currently in their targets possesion.
Himika kept her eye peeled and her ears open for her team as she walked back, making sure to avoid her team mates at all costs. She almost ran into them before she ducked into an alley and waited for them to leave. Eventually she made it back without being seen and opened their room using her key.
When she walked in, Kaneki was already back and shoving his nose in a book. After knowing him for a while, Himika noticed that a hobby of his was reading, so gathering information from books wasn't a problem for him.
"Glad you're back, find anything useful?" Kaneki asked, glacing up from his book.
"I did get a book on legendary weapons." Himika replied, walking in and ashutting the door before sitting on her bed.
"Are you going to look through it?" He inquired, hoping to get another thing to read.
"Yeah, I'm going to read it tonight." Himika answered, opening the book.
"Alright then." Kaneki replied, going back to his book.
The room was silent as both teens go to reading, finding information on the Sword of the Thunder God.
