Lights....camera....action. Ms. Darbus started the play with the beginning line of the script by speaking into the microphone from the booth. It was the narrator's one and only line.

"Once upon a time there lived a queen named Zolancé. One day, while sitting on her throne, she received an enchanting visit from her fairy Godmother. She would remember that moment for life" she recited clearly in a British voice. Then the curtains opened and I, Zolancé, was fixing myself up in the mirror, when suddenly, Mother Martha, played by my friend Ellie, appeared.

"Well, how does it feel?" she asked me. I turned around to face her with a giggle.

"What are you doing here Godmother?" I asked.

"Take it all in!...pause" she responded. The audience laughed.

"I don't know, I just feel like tonight is gonna be amazing" I said when the laughter ceased.

"It will be darling, you know--"

"It's gonna be a dream" I said, cutting her off like Ms. Darbus told me to in rehearsals.

"Listen to me Zolancé! These kinds of nights are usually fleeting. And usually they end at midnight" she said. I shrugged.

"But, my fairy Godmother senses tell me that...you may have this moment for life" she said passionately. I glanced at the crowd and saw Yoshi, Roman's director. I tried not to get too nervous.

"Really?" I asked, picking up where we left off.

"I know so, darling! I don't want you to worry 'bout anything, darling."

"Well, where's Roman, Godmother? I know you brought him! Where is he?!"

"Ooooh darling, don't you start worring about Roman, darling. Listen! He's off to boarding school by the way, him and Slim Shady--"

"WHAT?!"

"They were wrecking HAVOC in the industry, darling" Ellie said. I think she might've mistakenly added too many "darling"s but its okay. The crowd didn't see to mind.

"Ohhhhhh Romaaan" I cried.

"Nevermind! Its all about you, isn't it? Darling? Hmmm?!"

"I love you, muuuuuuuuah!" I said, trying to get rid of her and turning back to my mirror.

"I know you'll just have your moment for life!...Oh and Zolancé?"

"Yes Godmother?" I responded, turning back to her.

"Pause."

"What?"

"Its Martha."

"What?"

"Its Martha BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITCH" Ellie said with an insane gesture. The crowd laughed and cheered. I laughed too.

"You are crazy, Godmother!...I LOVE YOU!" I said. When she was done with her uproar, her character left the stage and I ended the scene by rolling my eyes and saying the last line: "Bitch."

The scene with the big argument was next and I was a bit nervous. More nervous than I thought I would be. When Nicki showed me who Yoshi was, I started sweating. I was afraid! He looked so judgmental. But at least I have my girlfriend by my side. She started our next scene by storming into the kitchen in her wedding dress. Zolancé was pissed.

"I can't take it, like yo, seriously..." she started. Then I followed behind her reciting my first line of the scene.

"I can't believe you're making big drama!"

"I'm making big drama?"

"Yeah."

"I'M MAKING BIG DRAMA?! So you think what you're doing is okay?" she hissed. I liked how this scene somehow related to our relationship in real life. I ignored her and took out something to eat from the fridge just like the script said to do. She squinted her eyes at me and shrugged.

"Seriously...I'm sick--" she started, but my character had to cut her off and mumble about how she was overreacting. "No, no! But I'm sick and tired of it" she resumed. Then she picked up a wine glass and smashed it screaming "I'M SICK AND TIRED OF IT!" The audience gasped. The glass wasn't dangerous though.

"Of what?" I asked after watching her explode.

"OF THE DISRESPECT! STOP DISRESPECTING ME, STOP DISRESPECTING ME! STOP TALKIN' TO PEOPLE WHEN I'M OUTSIDE DOIN' WHAT I HAVE TO DO--EMBARRASSING ME IN FRONT OF OTHER PEOPLE. STOP!!!" she screamed. It was intense.

"You know what? I'm leaving" I said calmly as I got up to leave the stage.

"Don't walk out!" she yelled after breaking another glass in frustration. "Yo, seriously..." she said as I got further away.

"Yeah, I'm gonna leave you" I said harshly.

"Okay, okay."

"I'm tired!"

"No! Stop, stop! Please..." she said while pulling me back into the kitchen. "Please stop" she pleaded. I gave in. She got me back into the kitchen and hugged me and then apologized for overreacting.

"You have to trust me, that I did nothing wrong" I said.

"But you're doing something wrong to me."

"How?"

"Because you are disrespecting me on a regular basis! I don't want you talking to her. I don't want you talking to her..." she said as the music for the last scene began. Its so cheesy how Ms. Darbus decided to end on a musical number, but at least Nicki gets to show off her singing ability. "You see right through me" she whispered before the cast assembled to sing and dance.

That wasn't in the script.

Standing ovation. From everyone in the audience. Even Yoshi. He was smiling so hard and clapping really really fast. I was so proud of myself and everyone else in the play.

When it was all over, Willy pulled me to the side and proposed.

We got married after graduating high school and had six kids.
