"My mother." Akshay said.

"What?" I was strucked. How could it even possible. His mother is.. "Are you sure,  I mean.. She's your mother?" I asked him flabbergasted.

"Mausam." Akshay's voice was strained. "She's my mother your talking about. How can I not recognize her or lie about her. You know how I feel for them." He lowered his head.  I felt guilty for being so mean but I have to.

"I know and am sorry but... Akshay your mother... She's not alive." Akshay looked at me and Karan put his hand on Akshay's shoulder. "But...  I saw her today. She's... She's Shakshi's mother." I  said pointing towards the woman in the photo.

Akshay's expressions changed he's eyes widened. I was feeling very sorry and if I am wrong I would be sorrier cause I have touched his injured nerve. But the next words he spoke shook me real hard.

I very well know he's controlling himself for my sake.  If I were someone else he would've punched me by now.  He loves me and cares for me as a sister....

"Shakshi was my sister's name too." He looked at me with painful eyes.

A sister, upon whose death he was mourning all these years. A sister whom he found in me.  A sister that maybe alive. Very well alive.

"What?" Me and Karan uttered together. "You never said this before." I asked him.

"There are a lot of girls with the same name.  How can I discuss about something that is next to impossible.  And Mausam... Are you sure?  I mean you actually saw her? " He asked pointing towards the same photo.

"Yes.  Wait let me show you today's picture." I said and got my cell out of my purse. I searched through the pictures and showed him one of Shakshi's...... His mother.

He took my cell in his hand and looked very closely.  His expressions were very clear that he couldn't believe what his eyes were looking at. He gulped and a tear escaped his eyes.

I never in my life had seen him crying.  But this grown up man was broken today. All his life he missed his mother,  his sister and here they were.  Both hale and healthy who were supposed to be dead.

"Akshay. Maybe... This was what your father want to talk about." Karan said to him. The very moment my cell rang.

"Shruti."

"Ask her to come here." Akshay said and I did that. After a while Shruti reached at the apartment.

"Kusum, Sid and Neev are in college. They wanted to know if we're having some problems." Shruti said.

"What did you tell them?" Karan asked.

"Just that, I'm helping Akshay in packing and you two went on  a date. But why do you forbid me to tell them anything?" She asked me.

"Cause were aren't sure yet,  what problems are we having here..... My father wants me to go and talk to him about some stuff that I have no idea about,  and all of a sudden my mother and sister comes in the picture after all these years of my sufferings." He sat on the sofa hiding his face in his palms.

He was hurt, that he had to live without his mother.  He was angry,  on his parents. He was frustrated, as he wanted answers.

Shruti sat and side hugged him. "Why don't you call uncle and ask him. What he wants to say before talking  to my family?  Is there something he's afraid of that... my parents will not agree to?
