Chapter thirty: Pink

I woke up and checked the clock, and it was 12:34 in the afternoon! Why did Lou let me sleep in so long? I jumped out of bed, sliding into my dressing gown before walking out of our bedroom and heard Niall’s distinct Irish accent.

“What do you think?”  I walked into Audrie’s room to find the five boys, covered in pink paint, and Audrie’s room, now in a pink colour, instead of a pale yellow.

“Yes!” Audrie laughed with her little paint brush in her hand pretending to paint the walls.

“What’s going on here!” I laughed, walking over to Lou to give him a kiss on the cheek, before picking up my darling daughter and giving her a big hug and kiss. “Did you miss mummy?” I asked her.

“Yes!” She flung her arms around my neck.

“Audrie said that she wanted a pink room so, here’s her pink room!” Harry said wiping off some of the paint with the back of his palm.

“Lovely job boys!” I smiled, admiring the room.

“I help!” Audrie kicked a little, letting me know she wanted to be put down.

“Yep! She did a fantastic job too!” Louis smiled, trying to fix his hair, but just putting more pink paint through it. Audrie continued paining her little section of wall, making weird baby noises to herself.

“What does everyone want for lunch?” I asked, carrying Audrie downstairs while everyone followed.

“McDonalds!” Lou suggested, putting his hand around my waist. Everyone agreed and started shouting out orders for me to write down.

2 Big Macs, 2 happy meals with nuggets, 2 double cheeseburgers, 2 cheeseburgers, and 1 lemonade the rest cokes.

“How did we end up with so much?” I asked. “There’s eight meals here and there’s six of us...”

“I couldn’t decide between a double cheeseburger and a Big Mac so I chose a Big Mac and a cheese burger....” Niall laughed grabbing an apple out of the fruit bowl and taking a massive bite out of it.

“Audrie insisted I get a happy meal too!” Lou said, high fiving little Audrie.

“Big Mac for me!” Zayn said, planting his butt on the couch.

“And that leaves the double cheese burgers for you two!” I pointed at Liam and Harry.

“Who’s going to get it?” I asked, holding up the paper.

“We will!” Harry and Louis volunteered, grabbing the paper and getting into the car.

“So, that’s a very lovely ring you have there.” Liam winked.

“Haha, he’s already told you, hasn’t he?” I blushed, admiring my ring.

“Of course, we know! But he didn’t tell us when he would do it, or that you said yes this morning.” He smiled, holding out his hand gesturing to see the ring.

Sydney's Journal:

Our wedding day is tomorrow! It's just me and Audrie tonight, because Louis is with the boys! Audrie is four now! And she looks so beautiful in her little flower girl dress!

Her hair is so long and beautiful, so much for the bride being the most beautiful girl there, she will be!  My hair will be curled lightly and flowing down and will reach just the top of the dress. The dress is strapless and lacey, pulled into a bow at the back.

We're having a beach wedding, and we're having red roses everywhere! Little Audrie will be carrying pedals and tossing them in the air before Britt, Meg, Fizz, Lottie and Abbey walk up. Followed by me, being handed over by mother dearest. It should be an amazing day! Better get some sleep! Big, big day!

I looked down at my phone and there were a few messages.

From: Selena

Hey beautiful, can't wait to see you tomorrow, don't worry everything will go fine! Thanks for inviting us again! xo

To: Selena: Yeah neither should be heaps of fun! xo

From: Niall

I've decided that there won't be enough food at your wedding.

To: Niall

But I left you in control of the food Niall! Haha xo

From: Lottie

We'll be over at about 9 am with McDonald's! Be ready for an amazing day! xoxo

To: Lottie

Thanks babe! See you tomorrow! xoxo

From: Boo Bear

Goodnight beautiful, I love you so much <3 I hope you sleep well, I'll see you tomorrow! xoxo

To: Boo Bear

Goodnight Boo :) I love you too, (I'm a poet and I didn't know-et) See you tomorrow! <3 xoxo

I plugged in my phone into the charger, and jumped into bed, snuggling up, starting to over think everything to do with our wedding.

Walking down the endless isle, towards Lou, who had his back turned to me, standing tall and proud, all faces turned towards me, looking horrified, and bruised. Why does everyone look so scared and bruised? Everyone should be happy and excited, right? I could see Harry was holding Audrie, who seemed to be crying. What is happening? Then he turned around. His ugly face turned to me and said,

“Aren’t I supposed to be handing you over, I am your father after all.”

“Not in a million years.” I spat, only now realised what had happened, he had beaten everyone at the wedding. How dare he ruin my wedding! I could see him about to hit me so I turned around to start running, but I just wasn’t moving, the ground was swallowing me, like quicksand, not getting me anywhere, there was no running from this nightmare.

I woke up, sweating, so scared. I checked the clock and it was already seven, so I decided to get up and check on Audrie, who was already awake and downstairs watching Disney.

“Good morning mummy!” She smiled, but her face still glued to the TV.

“Good morning sweetie, would you like some strawberry milk?” I asked, heading towards the fridge.

“Yes please.”
