Chapter Fifteen: Should I take it?
I packed the last of my things in my room, kissing it goodbye, it doesn’t look like my room anymore, it looks like a stranger’s room without all my things.
“Having second thoughts?” Louis asked sliding his arms around my waist, kissing my cheek, still being careful, because it still hurt a bit.
“Of course not.” I smiled pulling his arms tighter, then turning around to face my perfect, beautiful boyfriend. We rented a house not far from our houses so we would still be able to visit home every now and then. When we had finally moved the last of my stuff in, we looked around our house. It didn’t have the best furniture, and it wasn’t the biggest, but it was our house and we could do whatever we wanted there.
“I’m starving!” Lou declared walking towards the fridge which was of course, empty.
“Babe, food doesn’t just magically appear, you have to go shopping.” I pointed out, giggling.
“You’re kidding!” He joked picking the keys up off the bench and pushing me towards the front door.
“Where are we going?” I asked before locking the door.
“The supermarket of course!” He smiled.
“It closes in an hour.”
“Then I’ll step on it!” He giggled making car noises. He can be such a child sometimes. I of course put the meat and vegetables into the cart, while Lou put all the lollies and chips in the cart. Lou loves shopping cart skidding, and he almost ran over some kid. When we finally got home, Lou started the fire and I started cooking a chicken stir-fry with all kinds of vegetables in it. Which Louis literally inhaled before massively belching over the table.
“Charming.” I muttered cleaning the table off.
“Hey! It’s not a home unless you’re comfortable in it.” Lou smiled kissing me on the cheek before starting to wash up. Not that there was much to wash up, we had to use paper plates because we forgot to buy plates when we were out shopping. We really were genius like that.
Two years later
“Why are you being so selfish?” I screamed throwing my hands around in the air, tears pouring down my face.
“I just need to focus on my career Syd. Maybe later we can get back together?” I could see the tears welling up in his eyes. But it didn’t matter.
“We’ve been best friends our whole lives! I’m starting to regret requesting that stupid show!” I yelled slamming cupboard doors shut. “Sorry. I’m happy for you, I really am but can’t we work this out?”
“I just need to get my career running.” He sniffed.
“What happened to forever and always huh buddie?!”
“I’m sorry.” He mumbled.
“Just f@$#ing leave!” I screamed slamming the door, stuffing my face into the pillow and just crying. It seemed like hours before I came back out of our – my room to see Lou’s stuff all gone, all his suitcases, just my stuff left in the apartment.
“I’m sorry it had to end like this. Maybe another time. Xx Lou.”
So, I guess you’re thinking either ‘Yes the bitch is gone!’ or ‘Oh no they’d be heart broken.’ Well, I have good news for you. When Lou turned twenty-four, there was a big commotion “Louis Tomlinson and Eleanor Calder broke up because ‘We just don’t feel the same about each other anymore.’” Was all over the news. I didn’t really think much of it, just got on with my daily life, but I never truly forgot about my Boo.
There was a knock at the door. Who could possibly be here at this time of night? I wondered slumping my way to the door.
“Sorry if I woke you.” Fizz was standing at the door with a letter in her hand.
“Of course not, you’re always welcome come in.” I smiled. I always loved Fizz. She’s so beautiful and she’s almost seventeen now too. She sat herself down on the couch while I got her a hot chocolate, it was a kind of ritual we had. “So why brought you here?” I smiled handing her the hot chocolate.
“Louis’ home.” She mumbled.
“Then why aren’t you there?” I asked, taking a sip.
“He’s pretty upset.”
“Yeah I heard about the breakup..” I sighed.
“Not about that.” She choked. “He’s really upset about what he did to you, he thought that Eleanor would be a good fill in for you, and she was for a while, she was so fun and nice and pretty. But when grandma died, she just wasn’t the kind of help he needed. That’s when he realised he needed you.”
“What are you trying to say?” I mumbled into my cup.
“He still loved you Syd.”
“Haha did he set you up to this?”
“I asked him if he could say anything to you right now to fix it, what would you say? And he was like I wouldn’t tell you. And I was like Okay, write it as a letter. So he took the pen and paper and went away for about an hour and came back with this. I haven’t read it, so I’m not sure if you should be prepared for something.”
I opened it and read it.
Sydney,
I realise now that what I did to you was wrong, I truly did love you when I ended things, I was so stupid when I did that. I know my sister will probably end up taking this to you tonight when I’m “Asleep” so meet me at the carved tree at midnight if you want anything to happen, I’ll be there until one, and if you don’t come I understand.
I still love you Sydney, I didn’t realise until recently, but I do.
Forever your Boo,
Lou. Xoxo
I said my goodbyes to Fizz and she started on her way home. I had spent a lot of my time watching One Direction’s interviews and music video’s because I still loved Lou too. You can’t just get over what we had. Watching him with someone as beautiful as Eleanor broke my heart. But here’s my chance… Should I take it?
