The following weeks consisted of lots of tears, crazy kiddos in the classroom, and the best support system Emilia could've ever asked for. Luca had spent almost every moment with her, and yes, they had finally had the High School Musical movie marathon that he had promised her weeks ago.

That wasn't her favorite day since the breakup, however. Emi figured that would be today; the day that she had circled on the calendar weeks ago -- December twenty-seventh, the day her German friends (plus Camila) were planning on coming to Minnesota.

Emilia had the most Minnesotan day planned. First, they would have dinner at her favorite diner, followed by a Timberwolves basketball game, and then party at one of the sketchy bars downtown to celebrate wolves win, hopefully.

Right now however, the redhead was impatiently awaiting her friends arrival. She was calming her nerves with a drink at the airport bar, and shrieked when she noticed Camila was calling her.

"We're here, bitch!" She hollered into the phone. "And you told me it was cold here, but damn, this is fucking Antarctica, Em!"

"Actually --" Emilia could hear Max interjecting himself into the conversation in the background, "On my weather app, it says that it's warmer in Antarctica today than it is in Minneapolis, sooooo," His train of thought fell off as Camila interjected herself back into the conversation.

"That's messed up, Emi!" Camila stepped off the plane, and Emilia could hear her teeth chattering from the frigid Minnesota wind.

Emilia was used to the weather though. Sure it wasn't sunny and seventy degrees, but she loved the fact that her home state had four seasons; every day it was practically like a guessing game as to what the weather would be like.

Soon enough, Emi spotted Joshua, Lina, Max and Camila searching for her in the crowded airport. It was the fifth person with them that threw her for a loop -- she was not expecting to see him today.

His brown hair was slicked to the side, his blue eyes shining when they met with her own. He led the group over to Emilia, and as soon as he was close to her, wrapped her in a hug.

"Erik?" She peered up at him as he was still holding her close. "I didn't know you were coming!"

He cleared his throat, looking around nervously. "Well surprise, I'm here! And Leon gave me his ticket -- you know, because he didn't really need it anymore."

Emilia stared at the ground sadly, blinking the tears away that were threatening to spill out of her eyes. "Hey," the Dortmund boy cupped her chin, bringing her eyes up to meet his own. "That's the last we're going to talk about Leon, okay? We came here to have fun and cheer you up, and that's exactly what we're going to do! Capeesh?"

"Capeesh, Durmie," Emilia smiled softly as she felt Erik's soft lips kiss her forehead gently.

Emi greeted the others before dragging them out of the airport. The group stopped at their hotel first to wash up before heading out to her favorite diner, Annie's. It was on the University of Minnesota's campus, and had a retro vibe which Emilia adored.

They were sat in a red leather sectional booth, with Emilia sitting on the end next to an elated Erik Durm. He was in a deep conversation with the redhead, and he must have been feeling comfortable, because at one point he had slipped an arm on the upper part of the booth behind Emilia.

Wideyed, Emi glanced across the table at Camila, who cocked an eyebrow at the the footballer's confidence. She mouthed the words 'I told you so,' to Emilia, smirking at their interaction.

Emi wasn't so sure of Erik's feelings towards her, however. To Emilia, the two were just friends; she wasn't ready to be with someone romantically, as she was still trying to piece herself back together.
