Over the next two days, Emilia barely spent any time with her boyfriend. He told her they were having at least two training sessions per day leading up to the Revierderby, which Emilia didn't doubt. Dortmund was possibly Schalke's biggest rival, and knew that Tedesco wanted the players to be as sharp as possible.
As a result, she had bothered Erik who was rehabbing in Dortmund on Thursday, and he took her sightseeing around his city which she enjoyed immensely. Emi and Erik had stayed in close contact while she was in the U.S., and despite the distance, it seemed their friendship had grown stronger.
The unfortunately-always-injured-footballer had also relayed the message to Emilia that Leon had coordinated a post-derby dinner for both teams. Every player from either team was invited, but Erik had been told that only Christian, Marco, Mario, and Shinji were coming from BVB, which he was disappointed about.
Erik had also promised to Emilia that he would sit with her and Camila at the game that Saturday, which the redhead couldn't wait for. She loved watching both teams play, and would normally be happy cheering for either team, but now that she was dating Leon, she figured she better cheer for him.
Friday, Emilia spent the day shopping with Camila. It was quite an odd day for Emilia; sure, she loved hanging out with Camila and considered her a friend, but to shop with her? That was a different story.
Because she was an international singing sensation, Camila and Emilia had different tastes in clothing and their shopping budgets were quite drastic as well. Camila loved dropping Euros at Gucci, YSL, and Prada, but Emi's budget was more so in the range of Forever 21 and H&M.
"Emi, look at how cute these are!" Camila held up a pair of blue jeans with denim stars going down the pant leg. "Do you like them? I'm wearing Max's jersey tomorrow, and I think these jeans will really complete the look."
To Emilia, the jeans were cute, but not worth $129.50 in her eyes. "They'll look amazing on you, Mila," Emi complimented her friend before wandering off.
"Are you okay, Emi?" Camila asked her friend as she was paying for her items. Emilia was usually quiet, but not this quiet.
Emi nodded slightly, but Camila could tell she wasn't telling the truth. It wasn't until they were at a cafe sipping white wine and eating Chicken Alfredo that Emilia decided to speak up.
"Did Max have a double training session yesterday?" Emilia questioned, practically holding her breath. She had felt as if something had been off with Leon as of late, and thought that there was a possibility that he was lying about his whereabouts.
"Not yesterday, no. There was today though," Camila smiled softly, but her facial expression soon turned into a frown when she noticed tears welling up in Emilia's eyes.
"Emi, what's wrong?" The beautiful brunette grabbed her friend's hand across the wooden table.
"Leon, he's-," Emilia choked, her speech stopping because of the emotions overtaking her. "He's been lying to me. He told me they had double training sessions today and yesterday, and I know it doesn't seem like a big deal, but I think he's hiding something. He sent someone to pick me up from the airport when I flew in because he was having dinner 'with a friend.' When I asked him who the friend was though, he became really defensive and wouldn't directly answer the question."
"And I've flown all this way to visit him and spend time with him, but I honestly haven't seen him since he came to see me when I first got in on Wednesday. It's Friday today, Camila," Emi exhaled deeply before continuing. "I mean it seems trivial, but he hasn't even been staying at the hotel with me. I get that he's busy, but as much as I love you and Erik, I want to hang out with my boyfriend too. He won't even give me the time of day though, and I don't know how to change that."
