"You know to call me if anything happens, right?" Jace asks me as he hands me the keys to his car, and a fairly large stack of cash. I was fine with sleeping somewhere else tonight, but after seeing the quick flash of worry in his eyes, I begin to question if this is the best idea. He glances at Claire as she leaves the room before handing me a handgun, and blade. "Use them if it's necessary."

I nod as my palms begin to sweat. I shouldn't be nervous, I'll be gone for less than twenty four hours --- most likely just over twelve. Yet, here we are. I am nervous because I know that Finn, and his gang are out there, planning something that will kill most of us, if not all of us. I haven't seen Cooper around, which means he's either dead, or Finn is keeping him safe, and well until they attack us when we least expect it. They're going to attack when everyone is happy with themselves, and their lives. They haven't done anything because they know that I'm not happy with my life. Unfortunately, I am starting to regret pushing Jace away, but now, it's too late.

I disregard my thoughts, and send Jace a smile. "Enjoy your special night, Jace."

He smiles back at me. "Promise me that you'll return looking the way you do now."

"I promise."

With that, I leave the house, get in his pretty nice car, and head to the motel with the address that Jace had given me earlier. He promised me that it was a decent motel, and the best one that he could find. I trust him, so I took it without second guessing it, and packed a small bag containing sleeping ware, clothes for tomorrow, toiletries, and a few of my favourite books.

I get to the motel fifteen minutes later, pay for my room, but when I enter my room, my eyes land on someone that I thought that I'd never see again. I never wanted to see him ever again, he is the enemy, but the main reason is for what he did to me. He hurt me more than Jace ever could, and did. I glare at him. "How did you know that I was going to be here, creep."

He chuckles darkly. "I have eyes everywhere... bītch."

Use them if it's necessary, Jace's voice rings in my head. I will. I will hurt him with no hesitation if he tries anything with me. Fortunately, the gun is tucked in my pants, and the knife is strapped to the inside of my boot. The gun I could easily pull out, but getting the knife might not be so subtle.

"I heard that ex boyfriend of yours has a new woman by his side, it would be a shame if anything were to happen to her, wouldn't it?" Finn questions with a devious look in his dark eyes.

What happened to the boy that I knew? The queazy, and slightly hørny one? The horrible man standing in front of me isn't him. He's being controlled, someone is influencing him. They --- him, Cooper, and Logan are the front lines, there has to be something bigger behind them. Like Othello, or even Kylo Ren, and the Warrior Bugs.

Finn approaches, the same look still in his eyes. Every step he takes forward, I take one back, but it doesn't take very long for my back to touch the door. He grips my jaw in his hand, his hold to strong for me to pull away. He examines every inch of my face, and neck, humming when he sees something. "Hm. It seems that Jace hasn't claimed his territory yet, but I bet that he will soon. He wants everyone to know that you're his property, he's a very possessive man, don't you know that? He's a pathetic excuse for a man too, it makes me think about how you could have possibly cheated on me with him."
