Jace let's me go, and pins Cooper against the wall. He glares at his former friend, and punches his already broken nose, Cooper cries out in white hot pain. It seems that someone beat the crąp out of Cooper before Jace could.

"Are you stųpid, or have you forgotten what I told you?" Jace growls. "You have a minute to explain yourself, and to get the fūck out. The second you pass sixty seconds, I won't hesitate to shoot you, understood?"

Cooper nods, and Jace motions for me to close the door behind me. He drags Cooper into the living room, and throws him onto the couch. Jace looks back at me, the fury in his eyes refusing to leave. "Wait for me in our bedroom. Lock the door, and only open it when I ask you to."

I look at Cooper. I should listen to Jace, but I want to hear what Cooper has to say for himself. He seems to want the same thing, and he looks at his former leader, friend, brother. "She needs to hear this too."

Jace looks in between the two of us, and runs his hand through his hair frustratedly. Please Jace, please. He swears under his breath, and allows me to stay. I smile gratefully at him, and all I get in return is an annoyed eye roll. He's obviously not pleased with me being here. Jace looks down at his watch, and nods for Cooper to start.

He glares at the two of us. "What were the two of you thinking going out on a date in public? Did you know that Finn had arrived seconds after the two of you left? He wants to end the war straight away, he wanted to shoot both of you dead."

I frown. Is Cooper scrutinizing us for doing something that his leader wanted us to do? Actually, he shouldn't be yelling at us at all. Shouldn't he threatening us like Finn, or pointing a gun at us like Logan? I look at Jace to see if he's just as confused as I am, but my confusion grows even more when he looks as if this is completely normal, as if they're still best friends.

Jace shrugs. "I guess we're just lucky, but thank you for letting me know, Coop."

My eyes widen. Coop? Something is definitely up. Jace used to call him that when they were friends, but stopped when he yelled at him the day we found out that they had stabbed us in the back.

Cooper smirks at my reaction, and jerks his head in my direction. "Aren't you going to tell your girlfriend our dirty little plan?"

I shake my head. "I'm not --- "

"Coop is our inside man. We spoke a few weeks ago, things were said, he apologized, I forgave him, and I gave him his role. I wanted you upstairs because I didn't want you to find out, but you're not as much as a big mouth as Jess, so I let you stay," Jace loosely explains. I can't help, but smile at his words. Even though Logan is my brother, I missed Cooper the most, and wished that he wasn't a part of the infamous group of traitors. He looks at Cooper. "What happened to your face?"

"Training," Cooper says. He looks down at his watch. "I should get going, Finn is expecting me. If anyone asks," he looks at Jace, "I knocked you both unconscious."

Jace let's out a throaty laugh, and sees Cooper out the door. "See you later, Coop."

He yells something back, but I can't understand it. Jace closes the door, and faces me once again. "You should trust me, you should believe that I will protect you."

"I do," I reply.

I do. Everything that happened tonight, made me believe even more that it was safe to put my life in his hands. Everything that happened tonight has made me believe more, and more that we are going to win this war.

Jace's smile disappears, and sadness flashes in his eyes. "Then... What is it that doesn't want you to be with me?"

What? "I never said that I didn't."
