I quickly run down the stairs, trying to get as far as I can away from the sight --- the sight of my ex boyfriend fūcking another woman. Either he has soundproof walls, or neither of them were enjoying themselves, because I didn't hear anything as I walked into his room. I didn't even know that he had company over, I had only gotten home a few minutes earlier.

I instantly tense up when I hear the two of them walking down the stairs. Jace mumbles a few things to her, and a few seconds later, she leaves the house, and he approaches me with a smirk permanently planted on his face. "It's unfortunate --- to all of us, actually, that you had to see that, isn't it?"

Like a good portion of his words, his statement makes my cheeks heat up, and tint them with a rose - pink colour. His smirk only grows when he sees the effect his words had on me.

"You could have locked the door," I grumble, picking bits out of my muffin.

"In my defense, I didn't know that you were going to be home."

I guess that we're both at fault here, but it's more his.

"How long have you been seeing her?" I ask, wanting to change the topic of our conversation.

"Since this morning, and I won't be seeing her ever again," he replies.

Oh. She was that type of company. He has been quite grumpy lately, and when he mentioned that company was coming over, he did say that they were coming to cheer him up. I suppose that makes him that type of guy. I never pegged him to be one of those guys, the type of guys that drown their anger, or sadness in alcohol, fighting, sęx, or all of the above. Yes, he did ask me to take his pain away sometimes when we were together, but I never thought that he'd be the guy to call women over to sleep with. He has invited 'company' over before, but I didn't know that they were coming over to fūck him.

Even though I'm not with him anymore, nor his mother, I'm not sure how I feel about that.

"What?" Jace asks after a few seconds of awkward silence.

"So, she was a one night stand --- you're having one night stands?" I question.

He nods. "Yes, do you have a problem with that?"

"I do live here --- "

"You don't pay for anything, and you don't hear any of it, so why are you complaining?"

That shuts me up, and he leaves.

It looks like the ąsshole is back.

I have something to take care of outside of the country. I would have taken you, and Jess with me, but it is not safe. It is not even safe for me out there, but I promise that I will return in one piece.

If I'm not back in one week, send a few of my men, and women to go look for me.
