As I have my bath, all I can hear are Jace, and Claire yelling at each other. I can't understand a word they're saying, but by the tone of her voice, I can tell that Jace is going to lose this one, and depending on Claire, this could be their last anything.

The front door is slammed shut as I finally get out of the bath, and dead silence fills the entire house. I dry off before throwing on a shirt, pants, and heading downstairs. My eyes quickly find Jace downing a bottle of his favourite alcohol. My heart sinks at the sight of him drowning his sorrows in booz. This is what he often did, and still does whenever he's angry, upset, wanting to forget something --- more like someone, or wanting to have a good time. I have a feeling that he's experiencing all of them except for the latter.

"Jace?" I call, my voice still quiet, and raspy. His red eyes shoot to mine. I take a few steps toward him. "What happened?"

He sends me a look of hatred. I know that he's drunk, but I also know that whatever he's about to say he has always thought, but never had the heart to admit it while being sober. "For the longest time, I wanted you here because I liked you. I enjoyed your company, but now... You ruin too many things in my life. I admit, I didn't care too much for Claire, but what about the next time? What if I find myself someone else, they're bound to find out about you, aren't they? They'll leave me, just like Claire."

His truthful words hurt more than I expected them to, but I do not shed a single tear. He has every right to say those things, I was supposed to move out a few weeks ago, but he let me stay because he knew that I have been struggling with finding a job. I nod at his words. "Would you like me to start packing tomorrow morning?"

He takes a swig of the alcohol. "That would be best."

With that, I head back upstairs, leaving him with his oh so special drunk thoughts.

I smile gratefully at Jace as he helps carry my stuff down the stairs, who only looks away either angry, annoyed, or --- most likely --- both. We are met by Baron, a few others, and Jess with a shocked expression on her face at the bottom of the stairs. She narrows her eyes at her brother. "What's going on?"

"She's leaving," Jace states with no emotion in his voice.

She stares at him for a few seconds before slapping him across the cheek. I hear a gasp, and I honestly don't blame them. Everyone knows that you do not hit him, he is the boss. No one is allowed to disrespect him like that. "Are you crazy?"

"You'll see her again, she's just moving out. I don't see how this affects you in any way."

He has a point. I could always meet up with Jess at her house, or somewhere else, but when I'm here, I get to see her more often. Jess, and Jace do bicker from time to time, but they have one of the best brother - sister relationships that I have ever seen. They're by far better than Logan, and I. They're inseparable, and tell each other almost everything.

Jess glares at her brother. "Why can't she stay? Yes, I know, she ruins your relationships, but you're not in one right now, so why should she go?"

Jace stares at Jess for several seconds, he doesn't seem to be thinking about his decision, it's more him trying to get her to submit to him. He doesn't like anyone doubting his decisions, not even his own blood. He walks out the door after she breaks eye contact. I spare Jess a glance, before quickly following him outside to his car. He stuffs my things into his trunk, and we both get in. Jace told me that he found me an apartment, and he promised me that he would pay for my rent until I found a job. It's clear that there are two sides of him, and unfortunately, this side doesn't appear often, nor stay very long.
