[I think I've found another superfan like myself. How's it goin'? :D]

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Oh, I think this might be my favorite stop on the tour. I mean, come on, we're in Rio! It's so nice here. I'm not quite used to it being so hot, but I think it's great. The scenery makes for some good pictures, and I like to watch the birds fly by overhead. They're so colorful. Birds in Ohio aren't that colorful.
Sure, we have peacocks and finches and occasionally a woodpecker, but nothing like these birds. Oh no, these birds are like flying rainbows. I saw a parrot fly by, and it was just like the ones you see at the pet store, only they were even brighter. And then there was these pure blue birds that almost blended in with the sky...
Why am I talking about birds? I should be talking about what I did today.
Let's see... I stole Chris's "Smile" hat, wore Guy's sunglasses, and walked around with a pair of drumsticks, raced Rylan up the steps in the stadium, and messed around with Hoppy and some guitars. Fun morning, I think.
Tonight--or, last night--during the concert, I stood out in the crowd, near the C-stage. Chris tried to pull me up on stage with him, but I refused and he tried to cover it by pretending it was a dance move and not an invitation.
I'm still laughing about it. Maybe next time, buddy. Next time.
But before the concert, I sat and talked to Jonny about books. Yeah, just book-talk. I shared some of my favorites, he shared some of his, and we vowed to read one of the other person's favorites.
I learned we've actually got a similar taste in books. I like to read and write a lot, and I get a lot of ideas for short-stories from books I read. I guess this whole journal is basically a fan-fiction, because this is the first time I've actually kept a journal, and I'll most likely stop this one and never do it again when the tour is over.
I'm struggling as it is to remember to write everyday there's a show. And it doesn't help that there are 2-3 day breaks between shows. The only thing that kept me from forgetting to write today was Guy. He asked me if I talk about my pictures in my journal and I was like, "Oh yeah, can't forget about that!"
And I'm still debating on whether or not I should share what I write. And I'm still working on my sign, but I've decided to not keep it a secret from the band. I actually asked Phil for some creative input on it. He is the creative director/manager guy. Probably not the best idea to ask him when I did, because he was busy shouting orders to crew members.
At least I asked him when I thought he was done yelling to them. And he was nice about it, too.
Maybe I should talk about the signs other fans have made. First: the ridiculous. I've seen at least three signs asking the band to marry the owners. There was a group of friends holding signs that had Chris's face on them.
And then there's the creative: one like mine, artwork that was drawn for the Rush of Blood album, and a sign with every single album cover--and EP--on it. And they were hand drawn! Hats off for you, folks! I wish I could draw like that. I mean, I can draw pretty good--and even better if I have a reference--but not that good.
There was also a sign dealing with Starfish. That sign is probably my favorite. That one, or the ones of Chris's face. I haven't decided yet, because they're both hilarious.
I'm realizing that my entries aren't that long. Maybe it's because I don't write about what happens during the concert much. But there's really no point, because nothing really happens. I sit and and do my best to watch the show and be out of the way, or sit there and write.
Sometimes I'm allowed to stand inside the barrier separating the crowd from the stage. Most of the time, though, I'm backstage with Ryan and Rylan. Right now? In a hotel, with Chris and Will's rooms on our right, and Jonny and Guy's rooms to our left. I should be asleep right now, but I'm not tired. Or I am, and don't want to accept it.
