[Well, I guess this means I'm back ;)]

Hampden Park

Glasgow, Scotland

Scotland! We're in Scotland now. I'm happy. I've always wanted to visit Glasgow and London (forget Ireland), and now I get to cross one off the list! It's really cool here. I saw another castle before we landed, and Guy seems to be in a happier mood because we flew over his hometown of Kirkcaldy. That was kind of funny to watch, because he was in his seat with his face pressed up against the glass, pointing things out, though nobody could really understand him.

Man, I wish I'd gotten a picture.

I did take a picture of Kirkcaldy from the plane, and visited it in Google Earth. It's a cute place. I couldn't guess what street Guy lived on, but I had fun exploring it. There's so many roads.

Right now, we're in the middle of soundcheck. I figured there wouldn't be one today, but there was. Oh well. That just means me, Rylan, and Quince get to sit around and look at pictures I've taken.

We've been doing that lately. I have so many to look at, and I never do look back at them until I get home, so I gave them a card to put in their laptops and look at everything in there. We've found a lot of funny things. Sometimes I take the picture at just the right moment and one of the band have a weird look on their face, look like they're about to fall, or somebody's getting smacked in the face by the neck of a guitar.

And I have a lot of mid-flight shots of Chris. I'm proud of those, because I usually can't get motion shots to come out very well.

"What's this?" Quince asked.

He has a film square in his hand.

"Oh hey! I've been looking for that, where'd you find it?" I took it from him.

"It fell out of your notebook."

Oh wow. There's me for you.

The film square was mine, but not from any of my cameras. I didn't bring any cameras that require film. It actually came from an old camera Guy let me borrow for a night. I didn't know he had it with him, because he's never taking pictures anymore.

Well, I think that's about it for soundcheck. Not much is happening.

Not much is happening now, either. We're all sitting in the dressing room minding our own business. I have my earbuds in. I have this amazing ability that allows me to listen to music and write at the same time, without writing what I'm hearing and also without tuning out the music. I can do the same while reading.

Rylan and Quince are working on a massive poster that I'm supposed to be helping with too in the corner.

Chris is watching them do that. Jonny has a book. I don't know what Will is doing. Guy is half asleep in a chair across from me.

While I write, I'm doodling in the margins. I've got whales, guitars, beach balls, dogs, wolves, and a lot of other random things. I can draw fairly well, and it gets better and better almost everyday because I draw almost everyday. I guess I should put that to use and go help Rylan and Quince with their poster. I think they plan on standing front row tonight, because the poster is very A Head Full Of Dreams oriented.

5:30 P.M

Very near showtime right now. First support act just went on. I need pictures! Anyway, we're still in the dressing room. Only now, we're actually up and doing things instead of sitting around and being lazy.

Jonny plugged in a spare guitar to a very small but cute amp and practiced some riffs, and then Chris started singing along, and then Will and Guy clapped, and then it died down, back to just Jonny on his guitar. And then Jonny had to put the guitar back, and now we're being kicked out. I have to go take pictures of the support acts, before they go off!

7:12 P.M

It's still surprisingly light outside, for being 7. I don't like the day shows too much. The full color-experience doesn't really happen unless it's dark out. This tour survives on lasers and spotlights and the Xylobands.

But that's what makes these day shows interesting! They aren't quite as colorful, but you can see the band change guitars or fix their pedalboards in between songs, and run to the C-Stage, because they've no way of hiding themselves without being able to turn the lights off.

Anyway, I stood inside the barrier surrounding the C-Stage tonight. Rylan and Quince did in fact stand front-row with their banner, which I did not contribute much to. I drew a couple of guitars, that was about it. I think the people behind me don't understand how I could be sitting (I am sitting at the moment) here writing in a notebook instead of watching the band play.

They never will... with an evil laugh here.

I haven't taken any pictures, because I'm not close enough. I think they'll be coming to the C-Stage in a minute. Hopefully this time the cameraman on the other side won't be subtly flicked off by a certain frontman...
