[Hey, I fulfilled my promise! I'm proud of myself :D]

Gelsenkirchen, Germany
We’re in Germany now, as you can see. But I can’t wait for next Wednesday. I’d much rather it be Sunday so I don’t have to wait. I mean, Germany is great and all, but on Wednesday, we get to go to Glasgow. I am just exploding with excitement. I’ve always wanted to visit Glasgow and Moscow, so now I get to check one off the list, at least.
I guess I’ve always had this thing for places in the UK. I don’t know why. Maybe I’m secretly English and nobody knows it. I could be.
Let’s talk about Germany. It’s really cool here, and I like to listen to the guards (okay, they’re security, not really guards) speak in their native language. It’s strange but cool. I think I’ve learned a few things, too. Or tried, at least. I’d write it down, but I have no idea how to spell anything. Maybe I’ll use Google Translate later, or tomorrow, considering it’s eight o’clock right now and I’m tired.
What sucks is we can’t sleep during the show. We can, but it’s much too loud and nothing can block out the band and the crowd. So, I like to sit where I can see at least one band member (which is usually Guy most of the time because he’s right in between the flower screen and my “view-slit”. I see Jonny, too, but only when he and Guy switch sides), but sometimes I can only see a sliver of the bass guitar or a split-second of Chris jumping up and down the runway.
Quince sits way in the back, in the darkest corner trying to stay out of the way.
And Rylan likes to be in the way, mostly in the way of the wristbands operators. I don’t blame her. It’s cool making those light up, and we even suggest new patterns and colors for the show. Of course, they rarely get implemented, but it’s worth a shot.
As for my picture taking? I’ve stopped for at least two shows. I kind of lost my memory cards in my suitcase at the moment, so yeah. I’ll find them eventually. The card that’s currently in my camera is pretty close to full already, mostly from soundchecks.
I get the funniest pictures during soundchecks, because the band thinks it’s hilarious to screw up my pictures by making funny faces and all that. Chris doesn’t stay in the same spot long enough, so most of the pictures I have of him are blurry. Guy kind of stares at the camera with an angry look that makes me laugh so much I can’t even take the picture. Jonny doesn’t look most of the time. Will looks but his arms move so much they’re mostly blurs as well.
So really, I can only get good pictures of them when they’re staying still.
Of course, my pictures during the actual show aren’t focused on just the band. I mostly take pictures of the Xylobands and all of the colors. But my teacher always says that blur isn’t always a bad thing and screws up your pictures, but I feel it does because it’ll take the beauty away from the picture.
But enough of my photography knowledge. Let’s talk about what’s going on right at this moment. We’re about an hour away from showtime and with nothing to do. I’m pretty sure I’m not supposed to be sitting here--right in the middle of everything--but I am, so deal with it.
Anyway, I’m just now realizing something: Me and Phil have the same birthday. Yep, that’s right. The same. Day. That’s August 29, for those who don’t know. I leaned so far back in my folding chair it collapsed and everybody started laughing at me. It could’ve been worse.
At least I didn’t break anything--including the chair.
But after that, I’ve decided that Phil is my new buddy. He’s been the one to talk to us the most, next to Chris, and he’s incredibly nice to us. I think he likes my drawings, too. So, he’s my new buddy. Anybody I have something in common with is automatically my buddy--even if they are a celebrity. I don’t think he minds, anyway.
I wish the show would start already. The guys are in the dressing room right now, so we can’t screw around with them. My new “buddy” is directing...stuff? And none of the crew want anything to do with us right now (fine, whatever, you haters). So, we’re kind of just sitting here, doing whatever. Of course, I’m writing. Rylan is watching something on her tablet. Quince is typing furiously on his laptop. I think he's actually playing a game.
I just want to not be bored. Come on, crew, ask me for some sort of help. I'd do literally anything they’d ask me to do to not be bored right now, unless of course it involved going back up in the ceiling. No thank you.
But really, not much is going on right now. So I guess I made whoever isn’t reading this bored (really the only other person allowed to even touch my notebook is Rylan). So until next time? I'll be back with something exciting tomorrow, maybe.
[Also, I actually do have the same birthday as Phil Harvey, just not the same year, of course.]
