Glastonbury Festival (Part 3!)

Pilton, England

There's not too much happening right now, so I'll just talk about the rest of last night. Of course, we left off on looking through pictures I'd taken last night. I started by myself. Then Rylan joined. Then Guy. Chris picked up a few. Quince kept wanting to buy one from me (which I actually considered for a moment). Jonny joined. Will joined. Roadie joined.

Pretty soon, we had a big circle in the middle of the tent, passing pictures around, admiring them, remembering certain parts of the show. It was a lot of fun, probably the most fun so far. We've never actually had much of a moment to just sit and talk. The guys are almost always busy, and when we're on the plane, we're all asleep. So it's nice to be able to sit, talk, laugh, and have fun without being interrupted by an emergency from a crew member. Those are supposed to go to Phil or Dave, not Chris.

I would have liked Phil to join us too, but I'm not exactly sure where he'd gone to. I was behind him and Jonny walking back to the tent, but then he disappeared. That man is a ninja.

But when Guy asked if he could look through pictures with us, I was tempted to actually say no, because I figured I would be all awkward talking to him. But at the same time, I couldn't say no, because I couldn't bring myself to do it. I've only had to tell Chris no, because he wanted me to either sing during soundcheck or come up on stage with him. He's somehow a lot easier to say no to. I'm debating the stage part, but I'm definitely not singing in front of all those people.

Anyway, back to last night. After he sat and was pointing out all of the amazing parts of my photos, Chris kept passing by, looking over our shoulders. Eventually, he actually sat down with us and was staring at each picture intensely. After he joined, Jonny did, then Will, and eventually Roadie, when he finished with his work. I was happy they made time to sit with us, instead of just going to sleep like they normally would.

I have a lot of pictures from last night. Most are focused on the band, a few more on the special guests. Some on the crowd and the Xylobands (which there were more than enough of), more of each member individually.

But at the same time, I don't have many. I only print the ones I really like, and even then some of those get discarded or given to somebody else. I'm tempted to give them to the band to sign and then pass them out to people in the crowd when I go out, like how Guy took pictures of the band on disposable cameras and threw them into the crowd during the Twisted Logic Tour. That's actually an amazing idea--I'll have to try that when we're in the Sentebale Concert over in London. I'll have Quince and Rylan help me.

Sidetracked! Back to last night. I have some bits of conversation we had from our photo-sorting session, some of which includes the show, the Xylobands (which are in almost every conversation), guitars, general music stuff, and then me and Guy had a separate little talk about my photography.

"What got you into photography?" he asked.

"Umm... I don't really know. I loved to look at the sky when I was younger, because I think clouds are absolutely beautiful, and when the sun sets and adds that orange-red-pink tinge to them, it's even better," I responded. That was true. I always made time to look at the clouds, and got a little sad when it was cloudless day.

"Is that still your main focus? Or is it us now?" He grinned a little.

"I think it's converted to you guys for now, but if you watch, I still do take pictures of the sky, especially while we're flying." Looking back at that sentence, why exactly would he be watching...?
