Zane

I can't help but feel like we're being followed.

I dunno, It's just this weird feeling.

Gah, my mind must be playing tricks on me or something.

This is a very important day.

I'm not gonna let anything ruin it.

I look up at Aph, only to see her looking at her surroundings in awe.

I felt myself smile.

She's adorable.

I scoot closer and wrap my arms around her.

She blushed at first but then giggled.

"I feel like we're in some really cliche movie scene right now,"

I laughed. "Yeah, I guess it does feel that way."

Irene, I love her so much.

I just hope tonight goes as planned.

"So, where to next?" Aphmau asked cheerfully as we got into my car.

We spent about 2 hours at the amusement park.

It's now 10:47 pm.

"Heh, it's a surprise." I teased while backing out of the parking lot.

She looked at me with an adorable pout. "Again?"

I laughed.

I'm so lucky to be able to call this girl mine.

I want to stay with her forever...

I hope she feels the same way.

Heh, I guess I'll find out soon enough.

About 20 minutes later I pulled into a parking lot.

Okay Zane.

This is the moment you've been waiting for.

I sucked in a deep breath before turning to face her.

"Ready to go?" I asked with a smile.

She giggled. "Only if you take off your mask."

I felt the heat rise to my face. "H-Huh?"

"Yup! I don't get to see you without it often. Pleeeeease?" She begged.

Ugh.

Why does she have to be so cute...

I sighed while hesitantly nodding my head.

I guess this is a special occasion.

I slowly removed my mask and tossed it into the back seat.

"Happy now?" I asked while opining up the car door.

She giggled again. "Yup!"

We've been walking for about 10 minutes.

I've taken her to a hiking trail.

It leads to a place where I used to go with my brothers.

No one has ever been there except us.

I think it's the perfect place to pop the question.

Or at least I hope so..

I looked over to see a huge grin plastered on her face.

I smiled at this.

"We're almost there." I promised.

"Even if we wern't, I wouldn't care. I'll always be happy as long as I'm with you!" She smiled.

A light blush spread across her face as she said this.

"I could say the same," I blushed.

Gah!

I'm never good at cliche things like this!

"Ah, we're here!" I exclaimed while leading her through a passageway.

She gasped when she saw what was on the other side.

A beautiful waterfall that was hidden from the rest of the world.

"It's gorgeous! How did you find this place?" She asked while looking at the waterfall in awe.

"When I was a kid, my brothers and I would hike this trail often. One day we found a passageway and found this on the other side. We decided to keep it a secret. You're the first person I've shown this to." I explained.

She smiled. "I'm glad you showed it to me."

The bright moon lit the sky perfectly.

When you looked at the water you could see it glisten in the light.

I took in another deep breath and took 2 steps backwards.

This is it Zane.

I got down on one knee and pulled a velvet box out of my pocket.

It's now or never.

I opened the box and looked up at Aphmau.

This is the woman I love.

This is stunning.

I've never seen something so beautiful in my life!

"Zane, this is absolutely incredible!" I exclaimed while turning to him.

Hm?

I thought he was standing right there.

I looked back only to see the man I love down on one knee, holding a velvet box with a diamond ring inside.

I gasped when I realized what was going on.

I felt tears forming in my eyes.

Is this really happening?!

He looked up at me.

"Aphmau, ever since we met I knew you were different. You wern't like other people. Something about yo u drew me to you. I felt something I had never felt before.  All of those months ago when I found out you had the same feelings for me that I had for you, I was the happiest I'd ever been. I didn't think it was possible to feel that way. I love you. I want to be with you forever. Aphmau, will you marry me?"

The biggest grin appeared on my face.

"Yes, yes, yes, yes!" I exclaimed while embracing him into a hug.

I felt his lips crash into mine.

A few moments latet, we split apart for air.

He smiled at me.

"Thank you. For everything," He thanked.

He grabbed my hand and slid the ring onto my ring finger.

I'm engaged to the best man in the entire world.

I've never been happier!
